wow.....i hope the gameplay will be better, cause that vid looked really bad to me somehow. The sigshots look awkward except for Marions, but his whole shot looks awkward.

the graphics went downhilll after live 2005 in my opinion.

Thanks for all of the videos, JaoSming! Some of those are definitely sig shots, but others, it is hard to tell. Nice work though!

yeah man last year, although the game sucked I was very impressed at the depth and the number of players they had on the rosters/free agents.
this year kinda sucks.

is there any way we can sign/copy JC Navarro & Yi to the free agents list?

I appreciate all the info that's being distributed, and the videos people like JaoSming have taken the time to make.

But Jao, can you check on PG dominance and subs? Everyone seems to be glossing over these elements. They were the two biggest problems last year. It's like someone brings in a car with bad breaks. After fixing it the mechanic takes them on a test drive. The person asks "are the breaks fixed?" The mechanic replies "Oh, yeah, of course, I'm sure they're fine, but how about the smooth ride? I rotated the tires for you."

Hit the breaks, show the person they work.

A "PG Dominance is GONE!!!" video would be a great one.

Last year when you play 2k7 and live 07 side by side, you can really see the difference in the smoothness of the game.. How is live this year??

fjccommish, PG dominance is taken care of, as long as you stay in front of them you will stop a drive....unless they are tony parker or gilbert arenas. but even they dish 75% of the time. EA included a new feature called "EA Sports Defensive Assist" which will keep you glued to the defender if holding either L1 or down on the right analog. If you continue to hold it after a pass has been made, you will be auto switched to the nearest defender. I personally use the down analog a lot and this feature hasn't hampered my game style much. You are only "locked" on the offensive player as long as you dont touch the left analog stick.

Subs are fixed as well. Kinda, CPU subs come in and out even if fatigue is off (i think this is good, or maybe they were just in foul trouble, i forget) but i do know the CPU subs when players get tired. However, user autosubs seem kinda, well nonexistent. I havent played much "simulation" basketball besides that first game cause i wanted to get those goto moves captured but when I know more Ill post it.

keem this is the PS2 version, I havent played a 2k game on ps2 since the original ESPN basketball. I'd say it runs a solid 30-50 fps, its really just like PS2/PC Live 07 just with an improved framerate.

I cannot believe it. That just look like a patched live 07. EA sports couldn't manage to make a basketball game, that's for sure. We have an idiom for that kind of situations in Turkish; "serving up the rehashed rice". But i'm not going to eat it jerks...

06 was an upgrade of 2005, 07 was a patched 06 and 08 is well you guessed it a patched 07. 360 and PS3 has all the attention now, the current gen systems are blessed* to even have a release.

*no one is forcing you to buy it.

Yes you're right, no one is forcing me to buy it, but i wouldn't be grateful for that kind of game. I understand they pay attention on nextgen but what about Konami. They advanced to nextgen system in all products for Pro Evolution Soccer, including PC version. If you try, you can do.

I think the biggest problem is no one is contesting EA in NBA games on PC. We need 2k sports or even Konami to ask for more from EA to play good game. I'm throwing in the towel for now...

Im not arguing with you there, the only competition is Freestyle...and yea, no other NBA games.

I did try dynasty, I tried a situation thing where I was up 10 points with 3 minutes left and I had to hold off the lakers. It was fun. the SIM engine is fucked, and it takes a long time to even sim a month on the ps2 nevermind a full season.

I do have an update, I was sifting through the AIACT and i found some animation names, basically the following players have either sig shots, sig goto moves, or both.

Nice detective work JaoSming... Hell, honestly, I'm just happy that ANY players have signature shots or go-to moves. I really didn't think that was going to be implemented in the PS2/PC version. Thanks again for all the info...

There are others mentioned in the big animation list, and there are also viv files for other players (see post way up there) they are unused, but once we get our hands on the moddable PC version, muahaha.

I don't care if its nextgen or current gen nbalive anymore. I installed the summod and my nba live just looked so different the graphics are 2x better than before the patch. Aslong as there is the summod for NB alive08 im happy.

The signature moves are impressive.
