He is done for at least 1 season but it is difficult to say if Oden will one day play in NBA !

Poor Blazers, 1st pick 1984 and now 2007 (let's see who was picked in 3rd position this year....)

So many things wrong with this post:

1.) How is it difficult to see if he'll play one day? He's out for this year, but he'll be back at full strength next year.

2.) No, the Blazers did not have the 1st pick in 84, if they did they would have been set with a Drexler/Hakeem duo.

3.) Who cares who got picked 3rd, if they didn't take Oden they would have taken Durant.

Anyways, I'm reallly sad to hear this. As a big Ohio State fan and an Indianapolis guy, I've been watching Greg and following his career since he was a young pup. I'm very disappointed that I will have to go a year with out any Oden.

sucks to see a #1 go down before the season. I guess this probably means Frye will play a bigger role in Portland and Isiah will be under the watch if Frye plays good out there.

This season is going to be an all out war between Lamarcus Aldridge and Channing Frye to see who is going to be the better compliment to Greg next year. Both of them better be working their asses off at their midrange games, because that's what they'll really need to bring.

This is a huge bummer. I was very excited to attend the Portland vs Seattle game in Seattle, not so much anymore, though It'll still be great because Nate McMillan will be there.

Either way, this is just an all around bummer.

But to respond to Indy, he's certainly no former good player, he's still in the top tier of players, but of course he's also injury riddled. Then again if you say we must wait until injuries have subsided to make a judgment of Oden, then it's only fair you give time to make a judgment of Beckham.

Keh? He was one of the catalysts for their late season charge to winning La Liga, they went as far as to try and get him out of his Galaxy contract to keep him. He even got himself recalled into the England team because of his performances. He's in his 30's now so obviously he isn't what he used to be in his United heyday, but he is still good enough to play for most big European teams... aside from the injuries I suppose.

Like I said before, he won his way back into the Real Madrid AND England sides... Capello hated him but still picked him, and he performed. The England team doesn't give a shit about him being popular in Japan so why would they recall him if his form didn't warrant it? He was starting for Real Madrid for the last 10 games or so of the season, and like I said, they wanted him back.
