Portland, Seattle, Indiana, Memphis, Golden State.

But there's always the tankability factor, next year's draft is also supposed to be extremely good, but for guards instead of bigs.

jefferson should be the leading scorer. if the coach does his job at all he will constantly feed the ball down low and help improve jefferson and boost his confidence and willingness to resign.

Yeah but the thing is, after watching what KG went through in minny the last decade, do you think anybody whats to be in minnesota that long? Id wager a months salary he leaves regardless. Know who picks him up next year? The Lakers.

i would not be too sure about that. firstly, why go to the lakers? the kind of person that kobe is has really come to light this off season and i dont see anyone honestly wanting to go there and be a second fiddle that will be blamed for all the teams failures instead of staying as the best player on a young team with endless potential and plenty of money to bring in more pieces and resign you big. thing is, is lewis is a max player(he aint) then someone like jefferson, who i would take in a heart beat over lewis, is gonna command a ton of cash, if not the max(he aint worth the max either btw)

Seeing as though they have already have a developing C in Bynum, A good young PF like Jefferson would fit into their "Life Beyond Kobe" picture very nicely. I dont even see Bryant staying in L.A. after next year, if they dont do anything in the playoffs this year.

I think jefferson will be sent in a sign and trade deal to the lakers, for odom. That takes care of the salary problem, and look for the lakers to actively shop kobe around this year to anyone, crazy enough to take on his contract/severe Diva issues.

ummm, am i wrong in thinking that the wolves dont even want odom? maybe my memory is incorrect here but i thought the wolves were not interested at all in odom and thats why the lakers were never really an option? if i am correct or not dont really matter cause, why would any team trade a player like jefferson with all the upside that he has, for odom?

^

Especially when your other wing players are Corey Brewer, Ricky Davis, Gerald Green and Rashad McCants.

I was saying a sign and trade. they would do it if they knew they were losing jefferson anyway. Lets say jefferson says, Fuck you, minnesota and says hes leaving no matter what. Instead of letting him walk and getting nothing for him, they would work out a deal to trade him to another team after they worked out a contract for him. Hell, jefferson in a package deal for bryant isnt that far out the realm of possibilty. Minny tanks this year, gets a lottery pick and takes Hibbert. They keep Hibbert and pull a sign-and-trade with a resigned Jefferson, Foye and maybe McCants For Bryant, Vujacic (who i think would be in final year of rookie contract), and their number one pick from the following year. Thats totally possible.

To defend the other point, Odom is a solid player, one who has gotten railroaded the last few years. He was awesome for the clippers, but it was the clippers. then he went to miami, and they had to ship him for shaq. Riley didnt want to pull the trigger on it at first because he wanted odom and wade to play together, which wouldve been scary. With the lakers, how can you expect him to shine when kobes throwing him under the bus all the time? odom needs the proper system to play in, and one with kobe aint it. If they let odom play his game hed get 7 assists a night... hes probably the best ball distributor they have, including fisher.

edit - typos. and Gerald Green is going nowhere. Fast.

Not sure why people are listing Portland as being one of the worst 5. Their best players are: Aldridge (1st team all-rookie), Roy (rookie of the year), Greg Oden, Channing Frye, Jarrett Jack. Throw in Joel Przybilla, Steve Blake, James Jones, Travis Outlaw, and the rest and they have a decent young team. Probably won't make the playoffs but they'll surprise a lot of teams who look at the roster and don't see any big names outside of Roy and Oden.

The cool thing about a forum is we can go back and see who posted would be the worst teams in the NBA next year and then make fun of them if they were way off...haha....

i think portland might get put as a bottom 5 for being in the west. i dont expect oden to do very well this year but the learning experience will be great for his future. then again i shouldnt speak for others
