so because he is 27 thats reason enough to believe that he will catapult the rockets finally into round 2? the man can be good, he could be a bust, all i am trying to say is, going on about how good the rockets will be now that they got this unproven player is silly.

Experience is the factor here. The fact that many consider him the best power forward in the Euroleague right now already shows how much Scola can potentially help. Barring injuries, the Rockets can definitely be a better team next year.

2nd round is more than possible
they already was 2nd round team if it wasnt for stupid utha fluking out
with yao reaching prime, healthy t mac, and strong role players, they sure r favorite over utha... the question is can they overcome top 3 when it matters the most? dallas, phx, san anton
y not? i think it's possible... afterall they r ranked #4 powerhouse wid one two superstar punch

pf position has been problem all along with juwan howard/stro playing major minutes
pg position was weak too
so i think addition of scola & james sure is a decent upgrade... no matter wut they did or will do with alston, howard, and other garbages...
bottomline is...
james > alston
scola > howard

i agree that the rockets are already a second round team, they just need to stop blowing it. i think they are a second round team as they were, without scola. he can be very well what they were missing to advance on a team i just think people are putting too much stock into someone that has not even played a game yet.

still i think for what the rockets gave up its a no brainer. even if he dont help its not like they are hurt by the move.

He should do well because he looks like he has mass & strength, 245 is a nice size for a PF. Most euros who have trouble can't play well in the physical NBA style.

I'm not sure how athletic he is...he's never pulled down a lot of rebounds for a dominant PF.

Anyway i like him because he looks like Razar Ramone, and the more NBA players that look like professional wrestlers, the better.

ok my opinion is he will do well and should be a upgrade over what they had. i was just trying to argue the point that no one has seen him in the nba so to say the rockets are vastly better its a bit premature. he might spend much of the season without yao and mcgrady which will leave alot of focus on him also. still like i said imo a upgrade.
