Peterson is an upgrade over Mason. And since Mason thinks he actually has some sort of value, this makes this an even better signing.

He must really love New Orleans, trying to sign there all the time, must remind him of Flint.

let me rephrase what i said... pete is an upgrade over mason but not by far

i might be wrong on this, but mo pete coming to hornets doesn't look like a big deal to me. the way i see it, if the team is gonna have a good season, certainly it wouldn't be because of mo pete, but improvement of CP & others like peja & west.
mo pete's never been able to step up in playoffs, so i don't think he'll be able to play well in tough western conference. besides he showed signs of declinin in stats last year, although he had a career high season year before that. he just hasn't proved to be productive in winning year. besides he doesn't look like he's motivated enuf, even during the playoff times. no signs of will to improve his games... he is now going to developing team(hornets) from playoff team(raptors). i don't see any reason he should be motivated to play better now.

or maybe i'm underrating mo pete... cuz he looks stoned all the time...

Morris Peterson is an upgrade over Mason. That's all there is to it. Mason just doesn't have any perimeter skills that would benefit from Paul's drive/dish ability.

Just be quiet. . .You don't know anything!!! Mo Pete is way better than Mason. He probably wasn't motivated because he knew Colangelo wasn't gonna keep him if anything. I mean The whole thing where Colangelo was saying how Mo Pete this and how we tried that. . I'm not buying it. . It's Pure bullshit. Mo knew he was gone since Colangelo came in and brought in Anthony Parker and had them develop Joey Graham. Anyone who tells me no, is lying to themselves. I'm not mad though

Mo going to the Hornets makes them more dangerous because Mo Pete can play down the stretch, he's hit TONS of big shots for the Raptors, For the Raptors signing Delfino and Not Mo. . Delfino hasn't even done nothing yet to prove that he's better than Mo, only time will tell tho. Colangelo said Del was a better defender, we'll see.

I still like Raptors squad now since they got Baston, Not really sure about Kapono, but he seems cool, so whateva!!! He got the same number as Mo, just as Fred Jones had the same number as Alvin. Just hope history don't repeat itself and he ends up a bust and shipped out back to LA. . .Then to New York lol

Mo Pete is a small upgrade over Mason. If he stays helathy they got a starting SG on their hands. Adds some shooting, but shaky defense from Peterson. As I said, not going to be a big difference to their push for playoffs, which is gonna fall short again around 9-11th spot in West.

In terms of talent, they are fairly similar, but their playing styles are so different I think Peterson's game has more of a positive impact for the team than Mason's. Peterson's defence is not shaky. He's got good size for a two guard at 6'7 and because he takes so many threes you don't really get to see him use his athleticism that often, but he can clearly keep up with a lot of swingmen in the league. His defence is overrated at times, but Peterson isn't going to be a liability in that area. He's also good at picking up charges and knows how to get good positioning on defence.

Peterson thrives in the corner from beyond the arc, and this gives Paul an extra guy to pass to on offence where as Mason had to play close to the rim and couldn't really generate points by himself very well.

conversewade: A simple question. Why did you post: "nice job for the hornets" then "good luck!" shortly after? The first post contributes nothing to the discussion, and your second one makes you look really, really bad. I welcome you an opportunity to provide me a convincing rationale for your posts, otherwise your days are numbered.

Back on topic. I hope Mo-Pete doesn't give anybody else herpes. There.
