Definitely. Both KG & Kobe are HOF level players. Once you have a good core, it's much easier to sign veteran roleplayers. Look at Miami, Spurs, Detroit. They get bargains non-contender teams wouldn't have a chance at.

But Buss could trade the entire Laker team except Kobe and that still wouldn't equal Garnett, so i don't see how this is going to happen.

This would require Garnett leaving Minnesota...so it is not plausible.

not gonna happen,, not until Garnett's contract is up and then Bynum develops into a 16/9/2 player + getting 1-2 veterans therefore having Lakers a 50 win team.. then Garnett might consider coming to LA to unite with MVP Kobe Bryant ( if lakers win 50 ) Kobe prob wins MVP

I don't think KG joining the Lakers would automatically make them frontrunners for the championship, though no doubt they would be a formidable team. I'll believe it when I see it though; seems every season there's talk of KG going to the Lakers (amongst other teams) and nothing ever comes of it.

it seems every year there is talk of some big name going to the lakers. usually a player that the lakers could not get if they traded away everyone but kobe

To acquire KG, the Lakers would likely have to give up at least three players in return. KG for Odom, Bynum and Brown is the easiest swap that works under the salary cap but that would leave the Lakers' roster pretty thin despite what Garnett brings to the table...assuming the Timberwolves would even be interested in such a package.

I think the chance of KG going to LA is about the same chance that Cleveland Win the Championship seriously such a high profile going to Lakers with Kobe they would have to give away there hole starting line-up which was just make the trade useless

The Question is though: When will Garnett think he won't ever win a Championship with the Wolves. I guess since he's gettin older that could be quite soon and maybe he then demands a trade not necessarily to LA but too Phoenix or something... Phoenix might offer Marion, Barbosa and some draft picks or something

Honestly, that'd be a dumb move by the Suns...

that would ruin the suns actually, they probably only have next season to win a ring anyway then they are done, maybe not even that, if they made that trade they would have no chance next year

I dont think the suns have a chance with their current team. It has been shown time and time again that a team that can slow down (Jazz, Spurs, Detroit) the game will win. Pheonix should trade for KG. There is no point continuing down their path. Unless NBA changes the rules (highly fucking likely, actually) to help them, Phoenix does not have a chance.

i dont see them having a chance with kg either to be honest. if i was going to trade away a key player for someone i would go after someone who could take the game over in key moments, cause thats the only thing the suns are really lacking. they need that guy when the team goes through a cold spell, he can just demand the ball and pull them through it. kg is not that kind of player

The Suns style is not the problem. The only thing that the Suns need is a second playmaker. Raja is the heart and soul of the team, but he just isn't an effective player on offense without Steve Nash. Nash can't do everything for the team, it just is too much for him to do, especially when Bruce Bowen defends him. The Suns need to find a way to package Bell and Diaw and some draft picks for a player who can create plays. They have the Knicks first round draft pick... they could throw that in as well.

It's not the style that is flawed. If they had managed to keep Joe Johnson they would have absolutely beat the Spurs. Two years later it now appears they need another replacement for him.

can u imagine this Line Up

Wallace
KG
Deng
Gordon
Hinrich

meybe they can give up PJ brown Nocioni and a darft pick it's not worst than Shaq's

if the bulls get KG.. theyd really have to trade deng and hinrich.. also nocioni coz the wolves wont be stupid enough not to get something in return..

On the useless thread topic:

i just wondered what if.. coz i heard this rumor in realgm.. thru wiretap.. hmm.. actually.. u can freely post any topic in the nba talk forum as long as its related to the NBA i believe.. so.. hataz stay the F away from the thread if ya think ya don't like it.. why not instead view instaed of posting a comment that's really lame and useless? makes no sense...
