Report claims racial bias plays factor in refereeing

That report is definitely BS....due to the following

1. They looked at boxscores to try and find out this stuff

2. There are more black players then white players, so in turn, more black players will get called for a foul.

3. How could they tell which referee called a certain foul, especially if at least one black and one white referee were calling the same game.

Your thoughts?

all though i agree that racism is still out there by lots of ignorant people i feel that we are currently in a time where people actively seek out anything that could even remotely be considered racist, and they do this only to futher any cause they might have/believe in. it is really sad.

The New York Times needs to learn about the scientific method and not put things on the front page that completely abandon it.

Likewise, the public needs to realize that not everything on the front page of the New York Times is profound or even accurate at all - they just need something to sell issues, and this probably fit the bill.

Problem is papers will publish any findings BEFORE any peer review or any verification of any sort is done.

What passes for journalism is often disturbing. Such as all those articles about how the VT killer was influenced by violent video games (even by major papers like the Washington Post), and it turned out later his roommate was quoted as saying he never played any video games of any sort.

As soon as I read the title, I knew it was bullshit. The study didn't take into consideration of many factors that would skew the results.
