**Watchoo Guys Think About Josh Smith?**

Postby TSquared on Sun Apr 29, 2007 1:54 pm

Watchoo guys think about J-Smoove? Will he become a superstar? What are ur predictions.. In my opinion, i think he could become one heck of a superstar provided that he is coached and trained well.. I think all he needs now is a confident jumpshot and a good dribbling ability for penetration.. Coz i mean.. he is tall for an SG or an SF coz he has the height of 6'9"1/2 nearly 6'10" and he has a wingspan of 7ft or 7'1" i think.. he can defend well and can pretty much jam it over everyone else provided he has the space..

I think we all can agree that he needs a better jumpshot. And a better attitude.

I don't think he will ever get a better jump shot. From what I've seen from him, his dunks are fucking amazing and sometimes it seems he can just do it at will. Perhaps instead of a jump shot he could develop some inside game. I think he will be a star but not a superstar. (a superstar has to be dominant, I don't see that in him)

He actually hurts Atlanta when he is on the floor because he is so inefficient offensively. A Pachulia-M. Williams-Smith-Johnson-Lue unit is a 18-24 win unit, while replacing Smith with Childress makes it into a 32-39 unit. He's one of the best defenders, and easily one of the best shot blockers, but his offensive contribution is so minimal...

Josh Smith needs a trade so Marvin Williams or Josh Childress can do their thing at the 3

Q, I think it was about Kirk Snyder. The guy that made that thread was the same guy who made the last post in the NLSC Article Archive sticky. Man he was retarded.

I was gonna say I hope he's not the same guy, ut the other guy would of written it like this:

He's physically all anyone could ask for but i don't see much in terms of ball handling, decision making/passing, jumper consistency. He's not a rookie anymore either.

Still, i wouldn't be surprised by a breakout for him if he busts his *** one off-season.

That being said most players just party in the off-season, so i'm not holding my breath.

I was under the impression that he had a really bad attitude, and is basically a head-case waiting for a headline to happen.

Basically, in the groove of Stephen Jackson...

Is this true?

meh. i think the media plays a big role in this when they try to make certain people out to be crazy head cases so they have something to talk/report about.

Examples: Ricky Davis, Stephen Jackson, Rasheed, Ron artest (although it may be warranted for him)

Guys, he isn't that bad...

I think Josh Smith is similar to Darius Miles with more power... He'll prob develop Some kind of outside game and then fall in love with his jumper and be really inefficient.. Before he develops his jumpshot ( like next year ).. he might be a very good player, scoring from inside and running the floor, and great defense... but then when he thinks he can shoot, he'll prob really screw himself over...

Josh Smith is excellent in terms of fantasy basketball. I think I picked him up in the 4th round last year.. and he was well worth it. Having a G/F who is 2nd in the league in blocks is fantastic.

He's gotten better at shooting, but sometimes he'll try to do too much and take ill-advised shots. He still has weaknesses in the same areas that he needed to work on before he was drafted, which was his jumpshooting, ballhandling and supposedly, his work ethic.

Like his upside though. After seeing Darius Miles flop the way he did I'm never too sold on long athletic high schoolers.
