I cant keep game at 1024x768 32 bits goes back to 640x268

When the game starts...I go to options set it to 1024x768 32 bits
custom high so it has good detail.
Start my dynasty start a game and its always going abck to 640x268 can someone tell me how to correct this problem.

Which version of the game, i.e. 2007 or what? Once you know the answer to that question, please post the question in the relevant area in that games section. Thanks.
