Then you have no reason to to complain that you can't win it all.

No question, it's hypocritical of any player whose massive salary is taking up most of the cap to point the finger at the team's front office for failing to make the right moves when such moves are near impossible to make. But it's still not exactly fair to expect a player to make a selfless gesture that most of us probably would not. They are human after all and victim to the same traits and weaknesses as the rest of us.

How many players in the history of the game have settled to take less money in their PRIME!!! I know that Stockton took a pay-cut as did Malone and Payton when they went to the Lakers, but in all fairness... No one takes a pay-cut and is happy with it. Unless they know they're going to get something out of it... Like a title.

If you are young and heralded as the next best thing... Your agent will NOT LET YOU SIGN A SUCKER DEAL! And you need to think what are you going to do with the rest of your life. It's not like you can make millions for 45 years... That money rolls around in other bussinesses... Like being a CEO of a major corporation. It's not like getting 20 million cash per year is something only the athletes make.

There are taxes, agents, family and friends... And to that guy who would spread the wealth among friends and family... How much of your current salary are you giving away now??? I bet none... Then I bet you say that if you earned as much, you would... But you know that is not the case... And would you really want friends that hang around because they get a check every now and then from you???

Life isn't all about money... But the industries sure seem to make it so. And NBA is nothing else than a big corporation trying to make a profit and get their own pay day... That is a fact of life...

No matter how much you would do this and that with all that money... You never know for real what would happen if you actually got that money. The situation is comparable to a plane crash or any other really earth shaking incident where life really gives you a twist. There are stories about lottery winners going on a spending spree and spending all that money like really fast, in a matter of weeks. I've thought about what I would do if I won it big in some sweepstakes... But I ended up with the conclusion that these thoughts are totally useless... All rules go out the door the minute a change as dramatic as this happens...

Just to add to that, it would be a rare CEO that would accept a lower salary so that more money could be reinvested in the company or distributed amongst lower level employees who perform thankless tasks on a daily basis.

This sure brings some insight on how some pro players are seriously devoided of any common sense and judgement. How do you blow away a 11 million dollar fortune is beyond me... An unfortunate cast of bad calls by Robert Traylor, indeed.

exactly. can you imagine 2 college students, one is dumb as if comes and the other one is studying engineering. the dummy guy just need to play some average bball and once he gets to the nba he'll be making millions while the engineer makes what? 80k?

really though when i have my kids, i'm gonna give them a basketball ball and let them practice everyday, so when they be good at that sport and then get drafted by a nba team and become millionaries.

oh yeah the easiest way to become millionaries.

i hardly think that becoming a top 400 athlete at a sport is the "easiest way to become millionaries". It takes a lot of practice at something to become exceptional.

It's a noble thought but the reality is that the money that can be made by professional athletes and entertainers isn't there to be made in other professions.

1. The worst player in the NBA is much better than average. Remember, this is the creme a la creme of not just America but the world. 400/6 billion...average aint gonna cut it.
2. Engineers unless they come up with a patent wont make that much, you're right 100k by the end of their careers probly, but why do they deserve more if they're not coming up with something revolutionary which most arent?
3. Teachers should be given the most money. By far the most challenging job and its getting even harder.
