Not as bad as the Hornets, who lost most of their starting lineup last night :( .

This really bummed me out, since Washington is one of my favorite teams, and Gil is my favorite player, but I'm a big Raps fan so... I just hope they don't blow seed #3.

Needless to say it's a huge blow for the Wizards, but it's a shame for the league in general since the prospect of star players dueling it out as their teams battle it out to advance adds an extra element of excitement to the Playoffs. However, I do think that the suggestion of the Playoffs being much less exciting without Arenas because there'll be "fewer laughs" is a little melodramatic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the characters of the NBA as much as anyone else but the Playoffs are about competition and the best basketball of the season, not funny antics. It's a shame Arenas won't be on the court come Playoff time but the Playoffs will still be entertaining without the "silliness (and) perspective" he brings to the game. I'm more disappointed about not seeing him in action than I am about not hearing any humourous post-game remarks.

Daniels got 17 assists when he got PT. That's not too bad, if he manages to keep half of that up. Besides, this is a chance for a player like Songaila to shine, as Wizards will desperately need someone to take a load of the Arenas shots and he is one of the better teams offensive players.

There's still the Chi-Bulls to watch in the Playoffs.
It's still a shame though, Agent Zero is always fun to watch.

I thought the Wizards were going to pull off the upset against the Cavs today but the absence of Arenas became painfully apparent in the fourth. The effort was tremendous through the first three quarters but without Arenas to go toe-to-toe with LeBron they couldn't deliver the knockout punch. I'd anticipated a much more lopsided score though.

yes i thought they put up a good fight. i watched it on ESPN on "Austar/Foxtel"(yet again another Cavs game!!!) and it looked like the wiz would hold on at one stage, but yes they didnt have the clutch skills of arenas down the stretch and came away with the loss. also has there been any much talk about the Caron Butler injury?? that is a big blow to the team also

I think it's just a matter of it being very quickly overshadowed by the loss of Arenas. The numbers they showed during the Cavs/Wizards game spoke volumes though; together Arenas and Butler account for at least two fifths of the Wizards' production at the offensive end and around a quarter of their rebounds. The severity of the situation was certainly apparent before those numbers came up but they did provide a quick glance at what the Wizards will be trying to replace as they get ready for the Playoffs.

yeah they are in lots of trouble. i dont see them advancing past the 1st round of the playoffs, but i think they have a chance to win 1 or 2 games against whoever they play

Sorry for the bump but I just read Arenas' blog.

Arenas wrote:Best Video Gamer:
Madden - Tie between Brendan Haywood and Juan Dixon.
NBA Live - If you got the cheat codes on, then me.
Halo - In the summer it was Adam Morrison, but I think we got a rematch now. I want to see him again. I’ve been practicing a lot.

Does Live 07 on the 360 have any cheat codes? He must be talking about Live's FSS or the non-realistic gameplay.

Arenas wrote:I’m going to do a lot of talking. I already called the players … Damon Jones … Larry … LeBron didn’t want to pick up the phone because he already knew what was going to happen. The message is, “Punks jump up to get beat down.” Same thing I was saying last year, I’m saying it this year. This ain’t going to be no easy win so you can go ahead and get that out your head. You better come up with a real game plan because we are comin’.

He's trash talking by phone, he isn't even playing in the playoffs.
