Kevin Garnett is more often referred to as "The Big Ticket" or just plain old "Ticket" than "The Kid".

Ricky Davis had/has a nickname "Get Buckets". It isn't used that often but it is his nickname.

Riot's right, nobody uses "The Kid" now to refer to KG.
Qballer wrote:Dirk has no D, or used to

He still has no D.
Cambyland (Marcus Camby)

Isn't that "Cambyman", a reference to the "Candyman"?
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

I don't know if these count but Al Jefferson is "Big Al" and Kendrick Perkins is "Perk", but they both came from Tommy Heinsohn and aren't creative at all. Can't forget Hondo Havlicek of course.

EDIT: Errr...nobody mentioned Earvin Johnson? :P

I remember when I went to a Clips/Celts game 2 years ago, there was a loud obnoxious old white guy with a Boston Accent who yelled at him the whole game and called him "Buckets".

Yup. Here he has the "Get Buckets Brigade" fan club. I guess the nickname is okay but it doesn't really flow. I find it hard to call a guy "Get Buckets".

well, I wouldn't say you came up with them from memory or anything, it was blatantly copy/pasted from a website like wikipedia or something like that.

yeah "Get Buckets" is a little awkward to say. That's why I prefer just "Buckets". btw, I found out that game that Ricky's a pretty cool dude, not like the cocky selfish monster the media makes him out to be. He was out before the game signing autographs for everyone that he saw. It was only him, Paul Pierce and Raef LaFrentz that stopped to sign autographs. I was hoping GP would've come out to do that but he was probably too busy in the locker room getting his old ass legs taped up or something. :x

Ricky is a really cool guy. He gave me his headband earlier in the year after the game. This year he had fans come to Target Center dressed up in all their Timberwolves gear and said he'd give season tickets to the 15 craziest fans that came. He ended up giving them all season tickets and that is how the "Get Buckets Brigade" was born!

Allen, Ray - Jesus Shuttlesworth

I wasn't aware this ever became a widely used nickname for Ray Allen, except perhaps around the time He Got Game was released.

Carter, Vince -Air Canada, Vinsanity

I never cared for the "Air Canada" moniker. The reference made sense and was apt when he was playing for Toronto but to me it's always come off as being somewhat unoriginal, an attempt to market Vince Carter as a Next Jordan. "Vinsanity" is the better nickname in my opinion.

yeah I remember Kenny Smith launched that on a TNT broadcast but then later admitted it was already taken. The AND1 player "Half Man, Half Amazing" probably isn't too happy to have his name taken like that.

He still has no D.

NBA.com put up his Top 10 plays and I think he had a pair of nice blocks.
Has no D is just exaggerated like people tend to when a superstar is not more than an average defender. But he is still and average defender in the NBA. You will notice that when you watch the European Championships for example, where Dirk´s defense is among the top.
