Scottie Pippen or Lebron James?

Sometimes when I see Lebron James plays, I think of Scottie Pippen with a scorer mentality and average man-to-man defense.

I would pick LeBron based on natural talent and why pick Pippen to build a franchise around when he was the guy who was a building block for the Bulls when they were building around Jordan.

Pippen, i think Pippen would have scored quite a bit if he wasn't forced to be a distributor for the Bulls. I think he always kind of regrets that looking back, but it was the sacrifice he made to be part of a historic team.

Dyer said the home has everything and is a "playground for adults."

The home will have a casino, two-lane bowling alley, barber shop, aquarium, sports bar and a recording studio.

The master bedroom will also have a two-story walk-in closet.

Additionally, the home will have a six-car garage.

Dyer said that 19 families live within 800 feet of James' new home and many are wondering why James did not choose to live in a more secluded area.

"Neighbors are just scratching their heads," Dyer said. "They can't figure out why he built here instead of buying 200 acres in the middle of nowhere. He told us through an agent that he wants to be near friends and family."

I'd pick LeBron even though he's younger than 75% of current NBA rookies. He was the fastest player to 8000 points by a land slide, he can score in bunches, go to the rim easily, distribute the ball as good as anybody else in the NBA (some of these passes he makes are ridiculous), he's big,fast,and strong. And in the second half of 06-07 his defense has been remarkable and very entertaining to watch.

If he can do all this at his young age, I have to pick him over Scottie.

LeBron. He is already a superstar with the age and potential of a rookie. And he is leading a otherwise 20-win team to the second seed in the playoffs.

That makes no sense, LeBron is so young and he started on a lousy team that is slowly getting better. He is the reason the cavaliers went from a 20-win team, to the #2 team in the eastern conference right now in this final reg. season month.

Michael Jordan didn't get a ring until 90-91' which I believe was his 7th season? He ended up with 6 rings. LeBron just turned 22 and is on his 4th year in the NBA.

This is completely different than Darko, LeBron is a different player to complain about him not winning a championship/making the finals yet. You don't go from 20-wins to a championship in 3 seasons, every year though you get closer.

The cavs will make a championship soon enough, but that doesnt matter enough, winning it is more important than making it. Give him atleast 2 more seasons before putting that kind of criticism on him.

A lot of people seem to expect him to come out and average a triple double simply because he's putting up All-NBA numbers in his early 20s but achieving such a mark is easier said than done. Putting aside any talk of averaging a triple double, simply improving his current stats year-to-year is easier said than done.

And even putting aside statistical improvement for a moment, there's no guarantee LeBron will ever be a player who you can build a championship around or get the job done when it matters the most. Don't get me wrong, at the moment I wouldn't bet against it happening at some point but at the same time it hasn't happened yet.

agreed on what you said, stats wise, i dont' see him improving much, maybe better 3point shooting, better free throw shooting, less turnovers and more points in the 4th, being most poist at the right times, i believe Lebron matured quite a bit after last post season, we will see this upcoming post season after him "cruising" thru 3/5 of this season.


And this doesn't mean Scottie was able to carry a franchise, i don't think Scottie had the offensive skills to be the go-to guy on a championship calibre team, i dont' think he has the killer instinct either, not saying Lebron does, but i thought Pippen was just an awsome support guy, like a Shawn Marion, with better offence, and def.

It does come down to "What if..." with Pippen as he played most of his career with Michael Jordan, spending just one and a half seasons in Chicago as the focal player of the team. After Michael Jordan's return and second retirement, he had another opportunity to step into that role with the Rockets and Blazers but age and injuries had taken their toll.

My point is just that LeBron may not become a player you can build a team around either, though as I said I wouldn't bet against it just yet.

As Andrew said, all comes down to "what if..." In the 94 season Horace Grant and BJ Armstrong had career years, thanks to Scottie (and a a little bit of Phil) . Somebody said, caracter issues..well, u might be right, but that was one play (and I understand due to the scenario and what it meant for Scottie ,although I wouldn't have done the same thing ... ) in 16 years, he always was regarded as a hardworker and a winner.

Lebron..well, Lebron, sometimes he just doesnt care, its so easy for him, that most of the time he's just cruising (like the first half of this season). And that worries me, as well as the "global icon" remarks he made. Makes you wonder where's his head at.
