Durant is amazing. Every game I've watched him he's been great. But, he does make some bad decisions shooting the basketball and still needs to improve his three point shooting. I understand that the offense if centered around Durant, but he takes almost 18 shots a game.

Still, he is the best player in college basketball. Yes, ahead of Oden.

Now I know that alot of players say that, but KD sounds like a really genuine, honest guy. He doesn't have a 'thuggish' attitude and he really cares about winning. I hope he sticks by this and stays another year, for his sake, and for a Longhorn title.

I remember after Melo won the championship he said he would stay another year to get another but he left for the NBA, these players get pushed and have money thrown at them to join the NBA.

Though Ive never seen any of his game, based on what i have read about him,he is suppose to be in the mold of a S.Marion..Quick first step, great athletesism..And with the rumor of Greg Oden staying, the draft which is suppose to be Oden Sweeptakes,is Durant's..But,come to think of it,there are relatively more versatile wingmen than true centers in the NBA,in which Oden is a more enticing prospect than Durant...But,then again,I may be wrong..

I wouldn't say he is in the mold of a Shawn Marion type. He isn't as quick as many people think, although he isn't slow either. Marion is more athletic, alot quicker and his style of pay is quite a bit different to Durant. Durant can rebound like crazy, but who knows how that will translate over once he is in the league. I would say a mix of Rashard Lewis/Tracy Mcgrady/Kevin Garnett. he is sort of hard to find a comparison to.

Anyway, Durant dropped 28/15/3 along with 3 steals and 3 blocks in a tough loss against Texas A&M a few days back. I just wish Texas could of won that game. Right now the Longhorns are ranked #25 and are in fourth place in the Big 12.

Tomorrow Texas should be able to pick up a relatively easy win against Iowa St.

Go Longhorns!

damn, this is why you gotta luv that David Stern implemented the age restriction on draftees....without it we would have never been able to see Durant dominate....and the fact is, after only one season, Durant will be ready to step in as a starting forward & score 20ppg, which hasn't really happened since the 2003 Draft....had he left out of high school like he would have, he would've been on bench on a crap team....well done Mr. Stern, it was needed for both the college & pro game....God knows the NBA needs marquee players who have succeeded in college (Y)

Man, I haven't updated this in a while. Texas is on a 5 game winning streak since losing to my last update, they got their asses handed to them by Acie Law and Co. I'm just happy the Horns have picked up and are really making a push, hopefully this can carry over come the NCAA tournament.

A summery of games since I last updated:

Iowa State: 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals, 1 block [38 minutes] Texas wins 77-68

Oklahoma State: 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block [36 minutes] Texas wins 83-54

@ Baylor: 20 points, 14 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks [40 minutes] Texas wins 68-67

Texas Tech: 17 points, 8 rebounds, 0 assists, 4 steals, 1 block [37 minutes] Texas wins 80-51

@ Oklahoma: 32 points, 10 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks [38 minutes] Texas wins 68-58

One thing I have really noticed over this winning streak is Kevin is taking less shots. It seems he is deferring to DJ and Abrams more and more, and the team is winning because of it. If he carries the load by himself, he faces double teams on the regular and will probably try shoot himself out of a slump, resulting in less points and more losses. By my count he averaged 18 FG attempts a game up till the first game of this current win streak, in which he has averaged just over 15 FG attempts per.

Hopefully Texas can close out the season on a 7 game winning streak with wins over Texas A&M and Kansas respectively, and do some damage in the tournament. With Durant playing how he has of late, deferring more and playing solid defence (3 steals per over the win streak), the team could really surprise some people.

Go Longhorns!

If you don't get a top 2 pick in draft, you really want to be in that top 6 so that you've got a chance for a guy with potential like the Wright's or Spencer Hawes....

Kevin Durant played what could of been his last home game today. Amazing double OT win against a great Texas A&M team that destroyed the Horns last time they played. I gotta give it to Acie Law, he played great, and I think he is really underrated player who could be a fine Point Guard in the NBA. Speaking of underrated point guards, how bout DJ Augustine? I never hear anything about him and his play. The guy is great. If KD leaves this year at least we can look forward to DJ next season. He has been spectacular, averaging around 15/3/7 for the Longhorns. Kevin is the best player in college basketball, but a big reason for that is DJs play as point guard.

Heres Kevins statline for the A&M game: 30 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal, 1 turnover, 4-6 3's

... And heres hoping to one more year... or as the fans that attended the game chanted - "Three More Years!"

If he leaves, then he leaves. I can't wait for him to hit the league, but I also can't stand to see him go. Somehow, either way I'll be happy. I'm hoping for a huge explosion in the tourney and have Kevin and DJ lead this great Longhorns team to the Final Four. They have played awesome basketball as of late, so you never know.

Yeah, he's often criticized about his weight. He is a little weak in the upper body, but he has great on court power and lower body strength.

yeah but a little pumping would just help him get more dominant.
he is 220 or something now , but if he can get up too 250 , that would be great, cus he is 6'10'' so 250 aint that mutch....

I mean he's gained a lot of weight since he got to Texas, I think he's more then 220, more like 235. Either way he is dominant.

Time for the Big 12 Championship!

Im gutted that broadband sucks over here so it was painful watching the game today when it played like crap, luckily it seemed to go smooth throughout all the big time parts of the game... Like KD's 3 in the final minute.

That shot was awesome. He's a risk taker and scared the shit outta Rick Barnes but it put the Horns on top for good

Kevin finished with 27 and 9 I believe. Gotta give credit to Marcus Dove for shutting him down in the 2nd half but Kevin overpowered him when it mattered.

Championship against Kansas will be a big test for this team. DJ has to have a big game because as great as Kevin is, he can't do it all himself against Brandon Rush, Julian Wright, and Mario Chalmers all at the same time. Good luck Longhorns!

Wow, what a game going on. Kevin has been great, and we are having the first overtime Big 12 final. I wish they had let DJ drive to the hoop and try something rather than have KD try that turnaround in a tough situation.

I'll edit this post after the game. I suggest anyone that can, watch it.

Down three and praying for a Big 12 Championship... Kevin with like 30, 12 (i think) and 6 blocks!

EDIT: Congratulations to Kansas, Brandon Rush was amazing for them. Too bad the Horns couldn't get it done, but Kevin did all he could and Kansas played fantastic defence on both him and DJ Augustin.

When Augustin can't get the ball, the offence falls to pieces unless Kevin makes a big shot. That was hard to do for him because he had Brandon Rush stuck to him all game long.

I believe Kevin finished with 37 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks and 2 steals. Great game.

DJ was sorta shut down when it mattered, but he still played very well, especially in the first half. It almost seemed that he was in triple double territory with everything he was doing. Texas let this one slip away, but hopefully they get it done in the tournament. They could pull some pretty big wins out if they play like they did in the first half today.

Wayyyy late recap, but I figured I would type it up.

Texas lost to USC in the second round the other day. THe game was awful to watch - if you were a Longhorns fan. This game showed why DJ is so important to this team, without him, everything falls apart. This is the 4th time I have seen Nick Young play and I am still really impressed, he will be a fine NBA player, great slasher. He loves those turn around fadeaways and it seemed there wasn't a single pass he wasn't capable of picking off. Taj Gibson and that guy Hackett both played very well, as did Gabe Pruitt.

Onto Texas. As usual, AJ and Durant carried the Horns with big scoring totals. Unfortunately, DJ was completely shut down and looked really frustrated. Kevin was constantly double and triple teamed and his probem with smaller quicker guards really showed, forcing him out onto the perimeter where he took risky shots that mostly missed. If DJ could of got it going, slashing and dishing like he does best (he had 6 turnovers!) and the Horns played better defence, I beleive Texas would have won that game.

Durant scored 30 and pulled in 9 boards.

I really hope he stays another year, but I will be happy either way with his (and his parents) decision. His only reason to stay other than another shot at the championship would be to be the first pick. People are talking about Durant 1 and Oden 2, but I don't think it will happen. Oden is on a better team that has gone and will continue to go deep into the tournement and his performances on a big stage will remind people that this draft really is the Oden sweepstakes, even if he isn't the best player right now.

Personally I think Oden, Durant and Brandan Wright will all have very good careers in the NBA. Wright is probably the most at risk of being a bust (although I can't imagine him being very bd even as a bust, just so much potential). However he is still a college freshmen and has plnty of time to work on these things. Good luck to all of them.

ONE MORE YEAR!
