OMG LIVINGSTON

Tue Feb 27, 2007 6:54 pm

Have you guys seen Shaun Livingston's injury? He dislocated his knee i think it was a NASTY fall!

Tue Feb 27, 2007 7:31 pm

nasty right! that's a pain :(

Tue Feb 27, 2007 8:36 pm

No, I didn't see it and I am not planning to see it, since I don't care too much.

Tue Feb 27, 2007 8:48 pm

Oh my god, that's so fucking gross. But I bet it's not as bad as it looks like because they already said he just dislocated it. Damn the way he landed I thought his whole knee was torn apart...

look at that

Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:07 pm

I looks nasty, Does anybody has a video of it?

Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:19 pm

You can see the video on nba.com in the Clipper/Charlotte highlights. You can't just stop that momentum when you land all the time. If he thinks that hurts, wait till the doctor pushes it back in place.

Tue Feb 27, 2007 11:01 pm

The Clippers should give up on their "point guard of the future".
He'll accumulate more injury time than assists.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 12:00 am

OMG, this is sick..

Wed Feb 28, 2007 12:55 am

The Clippers are destined to never be a contender or something? Man, that's terrible. Hopefully he'll be able to recover from that. It's not often I hear about a dislocated knee.

Man, that looks really bad

Wed Feb 28, 2007 7:16 am

Oh fuck. That was hard to watch.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 7:35 am

Ouch.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 8:56 am

I heard he had a dislocated right knee his rookie year. So he has dislocated both knees in his short time as an NBA player. Livingston needs some conditioning or coordination, maybe both.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 9:11 am

My god, I just saw the injury on PTI, and it looked horrible, his leg totally just bent the wrong way... this is his 2nd serious injury.... hopefully he has a sucessful recovery...

Wed Feb 28, 2007 10:47 am

Under the supervision of team physician Dr. Tony Daly, Clippers guard Shaun Livingston underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) exam on Tuesday morning at Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center in Inglewood.

The MRI revealed that Livingston suffered tears to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and lateral meniscus. Livingston also suffered a patella dislocation, in addition to the previously diagnosed tibia/femoral dislocation.

HOLY CRAP!!

His carrer is now over, and the best case is he is just out for a season and then take a while to get back into shape

Ouch, nasty video :( I dont think he's done, a season or two and he'll be back, just afraid to jump probably.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:09 am

Agree man. He had a lot of potential. If he comes back it'll be almost a miracle, so hopefully he'll be alright, whatever he does in the future.

Man I'm gutted. Shaun is one of my favorite players and I really had high hopes for him. 8-12 months is a long time before he can play again. Hopefully he comes back and makes as full of a recovery as possible, I feel really bad for him. This guy was a potential superstar point guard with his combination of height and passing ability.

Jesus, this year has been bad for injuries.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 11:54 am

Yeah,I had my money on Shaun too and this year really has been the worst for injuries and deaths.

Wed Feb 28, 2007 12:29 pm

i hope he has a good recovery.

its career threaten..

Confirming their worst fears, the Clippers learned today that point Shaun Livingston has suffered potentially career-threatening knee damage and could be sidelined at least a year after he has extensive knee surgery.

An MRI exam today revealed that Livingston suffered tears of three of the four major ligaments that support the knee. He tore the anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments. Livingston also tore his lateral meniscus and a dislocation of his patella.

Livingston will undergo surgery once the swelling in his knee decreases. He is not expected to begin any basketball-related training for at least one year after the surgery.

Livingston, 21, suffered the injury while landing awkwardly in the first quarter of Monday's 100-93 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at the Staples Center.

The third year player was rushed to Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center in Inglewood.

The Clippers are expected to sign another point guard to take Livingston's spot on the roster. The team is considering former NBA players and players from the development league.

The Clippers have 26 games remaining and are fighting for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.
