I don't like Arenas. He has good season and people are making him an all star like Kobe or MJ. Let's see if he can play like this for 5-6 years, not half a season. Guys, don't get too excited.

What's wrong with "making him an all star"? He averaged 26, 5 and 5 in 04/05 season... 29, 6 and 4 in 05/06 season... and 29, 6 and 5 so far this season. How is he not a worthy all star? What's there not to get excited about? He is currently one of the best guards in the league and he is only 25. You can't say it's just a fluke season, or that he's not consistantly doing it year after year, because he HAS for the last 3 years.

he needs to do it in the important games. well first he has to get to the important games, then perform.

I'm not a Gilbert Arenas fan but I have to admit the guy is one is a rising star. And let me ask you something - what do Kwame Brown, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Shane Battier, DeSagana Diop, Trenton Hassell have in common with Arenas? well all those players mentioned before ARenas were taken before him in the 2001 NBA Draft. And who's a superstar after 6 years? the only one is Gilbert Arenas. No doubt he was the best player of his class.
Shit, why didn't chicago draft him? they drafted 3 players and didn't think of him at all

I heard that he was joking around so that Stevenson would accept the challenge.

For that draft, he's probably the best but Okur, Tony Parker, Zach Randolph, and Joe Johnson aren't too far behind currently.

Yeah but remember the team that drafted him got nothing for him. He took a while to get to his level..and then immediately bolted for more money.
If Chicago (or any of the other teams) had drafted him it would have been the same situation.

well perhaps he would have liked the situation at chicago and the would have been able to offer him a contract he liked. You can't just assume that the same scenario would have occurred with any other team.

You can't assume otherwise either.

I'm not assuming it would have been different, just pointing out the rather blatant fallacies in maes' line of reasoning, and apparently yours as well.
