Rookie Challenge in 15 minutes... No doubt the Sophs will win, although neither draft class is that strong.

Also, 200th post! :!: :!: :!: :!:

Isnt there a mercy rule or something?

The Sophs are leading 71 to 40 in the 2nd quarter I believe. That Ellis kid just keeps dunking and dunking after alleys from Paul.

They should abolish the rook-soph game.....at least make it half serious because this is just ridiculous. Not even entertaining

Sophomores are putting on a show, plain and simple.

Isn't that what the regular season and playoffs are for?

Why can't this be West vs. East with a game of rooks and sophs?

As long as they include rookies and sophomores it makes more sense to pit them against each other. If it was still strictly rookies as it was from 1994-1998 it would be better to pit East against West as they did in the games from 1996-1998.

Looks like my prediction of Andrew Bogut for MVP won't come to pass. David Lee has to be the frontrunner at the moment.

Whoa. What a blowout! 155-114! David Lee was a monster! 30 points, never missed... dominance. I switched it on and off a few times, and every time I turn it on, Paul steals the ball and alley-oops it to Monta Ellis or David Lee.

David Lee won it, I admit Paul did have a better game, but David Lee is the man! :-)

I guess a closer contest might have made for more drama but at the end of the day I thought it was entertaining. It's a game that allows the young guys to strut their stuff, put on a show and have some fun and that's exactly what they did.

David Lee didn't look very happy when he won. Looked like a fake smile to me. He did make a nice semi-pumped tomahawk dunk though.

I missed the first half, but I just didn't notice much enthusiasm during this thing. I know its supposed to be laid back, and no one wants to risk injury, but atleast run some kind of offensive sets. Just seemed like everybody was looking for their chance to shoot/dunk.

On another note, have the rookies won any of these games yet?

There did seem to be more enthusiasm in the first half, come to think of it.

Only twice (2000, 2002) since they adopted the Rookies vs Sophomores format.

Do the Rookie-Soph game have coaches on either side?
I dont watch All-Star Weekend except for the ASG. Watched the highlights though. David Lee was dunking left and right, but he barely showed emotion at all. Must have been fun for the rookies to get picked everytime they got to halfcourt.

Still hoping for the day they decide to implement an East/West mascot game. Throw in some trampolines? Mayhem.

I drank 2 Wild Turkey's & the 1st half was very entertaining....there's nothing like David Lee to entertain everyone....shame ceekay isn't around anymore, I guess I'm one of the original bandwagoners of Lee....

granted, the 2nd half lacked any substance, but still enjoyable nonetheless....rejuvenates the love for the game of basketball after watching all the slow-it-down or isolation teams strip the game down to a joke most of the time....while no D got played, it was fun to see players pass the ball for a change....

but yeah, to me the Rookie-Sophomore Game is the highlight of the All-Star Weekend....the All-Star Game is a joke & I refuse to watch it....I'll watch All-Star Saturday tomorrow, even if it's a bit of a farce most of the time....

I was going for D-Will for MVP but he had to play with limited mins because of a cramp or something and told Paul to go in. The offense looked alot more structured when Williams was at the point. I know it was just a rookie all-star game but Lee looked good inside with all those dunks, Millsap also with his 22 points and 8 rebounds.

Not dissing David Lee, but Chris Paul can make anyone forward look like a stud.

The one thing about ASGs is that it makes you realize they do play defense in regular season games...otherwise they'd all look like this.

that's what those guys would look like if they were playing in my league & we were actually trying to play defense

i enjoyed the game alot even if it was a blow out. paul should have been mvp but i am fine with lee getting it.

the thing i wish i got to see was the look on the saints owners face when bush rolled his ankle. cant believe he wouldnt wrap his ankle for that game.

I thought Lee deserved MVP. Sure, Paul came off the bench to dish like 18 assists, but David Lee scored 30 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and shot 14-for-14 from the field.

What are your predictinos for all-star Saturday?

Shooting Stars - Don't watch that stupid event
3-point shootout - Gilbert?
Dunk Contest - Gerald Green
Skills challenge - CP3
