According to a good source from a guy I know from another board I've been on for 3-4 years, Tyrus Thomas will be in the dunk contest with Nate Robinson.

Sun Feb 04, 2007 3:49 am

I doubt there'll be only two guys in the dunk contest.

Sun Feb 04, 2007 3:58 am

Sounds good to me, Tyrus Thomas should be able to put on a show from what I seen at LSU

Sun Feb 04, 2007 4:42 am

Tyrus is really athletic. But he's in the wrong team. With Nocioni and Deng also SF/PF, he get's only 10 minutes..

slam dunk contest:

I'm well aware.

I really want to see Dwight Howard in the dunk contest. He would surprise a lot of people with the types of dunks he can throw down.

Sun Feb 04, 2007 6:23 pm

Who know's, maybe even Kapono can make it to the 3pt shootout. Shooting well over .500 mark. 75-136 (.551)

Sun Feb 04, 2007 6:51 pm

Well we know Nate Robinson will be there, RJ has a good source saying Ty will be there, and I read earlier today from a guy on Youtube that Gerald Green will be there (no real suprise). I would like to see either Shannon Brown, Rodney Carney, James White or Dwight Howard with the final spot. As Gundy said, I think Dwight will suprise alot of people, he is far more mobile than an average athletic big.

If he did this in the dunk contest, I would probably give him a 50 for sheer elevation and power (1:04).

lol kirk's dunk

 wtf, he wasnt even close to the hoop

Mon Feb 05, 2007 4:17 am

When are the dunk contest participants announced?

Mon Feb 05, 2007 5:04 am

LMAO @ Dwight when he through the self-alley. I would like to see somebody try to block some like that with him throwing it down that hard. I would be nice to see Dwight in the contest, but I think he might end up breaking the backboard. I think he would definitely put on a better performance than Amare.

Ben Gordon will take part in the Shooting Stars comp, and his teammates will be Scottie Pippen and Candice Dupree.

Gerald Green will take part in the dunk.

Just relaying info from the source. Also, he mentioned that the NBA is trying to get a bigger name in the contest, if they can't, then it will most likely be Tyrus Thomas.

Mon Feb 05, 2007 6:19 am

Dwight has to be in the contest. We haven't seen somebody who is 6'11/250 dunk like that.

Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:10 pm

Ummm, Shawn Kemp?

Sounds good to me. (Y)

I have seen Ryan Hollins mentioned for the slam dunk cotest. Apparently he shoul be able to dunk from the free throw jumping of two feet.

I don't really likethe idea of two seven footers in the contest, but from what i've seen from Dwight and Hollins, they should be able to put on a respectabel show.

But I still REALLY hope that James White will be invited.

Mon Feb 05, 2007 11:45 pm

I wouldn't mind if Ryan Hollins made it if for some reason James White wasn't able to go.

Thats a pretty nasty windmill if you ask me.

Green To Slam in All-Star Dunk Contest

Gerald Green has "posterized" plenty of opponents over the last two years, and now he'll get to show his stuff on the national stage when he represents the Celtics in the Sprite Slam Dunk contest at All-Star Weekend.

Green, who was playing in the D-League during last season's All-Star weekend, hopes to become the first Celtics player to win the competition since Dee Brown pumped up his Reeboks and captured the imagination of the NBA with his famous "Peek-a-Boo" no-look dunk at the 1991 Dunk contest in Charlotte, NC.

How on earth can they put in Thomas instead of White?

Gerald Green should win the dunk contest. Dwight Howard will also put on a show.

Maybe because he didn't play any minute
