My friend was their and he said he played it and its raw! :D The drop step and the 2 button system is nice. He said he didnt even sign up for the madden challenge cause he jus played live all day. I feel like and idoit  cuz i could of went to the challenge but i didnt think i could win the madden challenge so i didnt want to waste my money but if i would of known live 2004 was gonna be up there i would of went no matter wat even if i only got to watch  . He said it wasnt the finished version but he just got a PS2 and said as soon as live comes out he gonna get it so i know its sweet :P

I need live now

Cool, it'll be in Philly, Oct 5--I might have to drive up. If your friend thinks it's so good on the ps2--the PC version will be off the hook!

Sun Aug 24, 2003 3:22 pm

Cool news, what did you friend think of the gameplay? Is it really slowed down?

Sun Aug 24, 2003 4:36 pm

LIL My friend is scamming everyone in chicago.

I bet the winners name will be either

Gene(Eugene)
'Twan(Antoine)
or my other bul Fourty(I don't know is real name)

Heh. They gonna win it no doubt, Hahahaha, I feel sorry for anyone in Chi-Town at that challenge.

hrrmmm, i doubt that it will improve much... sinse they make the console-verions before the pc-versions it will be like a half-ass convertion.

you can see that in previus games (live2003, madden-2003-04, fifa... and so on), it all recembles a lot to the console-feeling
the gameplay will probebly also be like the console-verions... as of for most things...
 :x :(

Cant you just post some more? Please, Please, Please. Did you play it at the madden challenge? What new things can you do with freestyle control? Did you see any new options?

I think it would be easier for you to answer the questions here than to be bombarded with e-mails and instant messages.

I think the PC NBA Live version is better than the console versions, graphics wise and gameplay (if you have a cpu that can handle it) I feel that the other series like Madden and Fifa are more geared for the console players in the gameplay aspect.

This is just my opinion though, people who don't have a super computer may like the console version better. My point being out of the other EA Sports PC titles, I personally think that the Live series is actually better geared for the PC players.

The other thread has been locked, as it was heading straight for a flame war. Please, do not turn this thread into a similar situation.

how bout sticking to the topic boys?

Wed Aug 27, 2003 12:18 am

This topic, and the other one that got locked have so far been a bitching session, due in large part to showstopper, but petey, and any others who have actually played the game, could you please post more info you have gathered from playing the game and ignore that guy.

Like:
Do the places faces/models actually look much better as EA so claim

Variety of Dunks? (Each year, especially if you use the 1 team and maintain the oringinal roster in a franchise, you see a very minimal variance in dunks)

Are the blocks really much better, they'd have to be, I got sick of stockton swatting a kobe jumpshot into the 3rd row (well at least to where the crowd starts, until the ball hits an 'invisible wall')

Player intros? what do they look like and to what detail, do they drag on?

In all these posts, no one has even mentioned Marv Albert? How is the commentating? Obviously Marv is the best, but has EA really utilised him?

FG%?

Camera angles? I haven't been a fan of EA or Sega's limited Camera options, Sega made an attempt the past two years with height adjustments etc, but they were still crap.

that should do it for now,

Oh yeah, ANDREW, where in Australia do you live? It's good to know that someone close to home is running this show!

oh yea... the 'wall'. any news on this? it would be more realsitic if they just got rid if that 'thing
or at least just expanded the 'box' a bit (to like the second section or something...)

Wed Aug 27, 2003 1:04 am

In initial reporst for 2003, EA claimed that you coulc 'swat the ball into the 3rd row'. This sounded cool but backfired in 2 ways.

1, it happened every time, 2, yeah, the ball doesn't actually make it out of the court, a couple of times while playing live 2003, I have made a full court pass that has missed it's target, landed just inside the court, bounced out of bounds (without touching the ground), off the 'wall' and back in play. This has only happened once or twice, but it's very stupid.

anyone else get this?

Wed Aug 27, 2003 2:58 am

My friend played it, I couldn't since I had a match to go play. From what I saw though, the game was very choppy, although I'm sure it'll be fixed.

Thu Aug 28, 2003 2:42 pm

whats up Mr. petey I already asked you a few question on Ea's website from the Live boards, but i hve on last one, ok two last q's.

1. Did the players feel like there real life counterparts whent playing with em?

2. (sorry, cause this maybe stupid) Did you see Allen Iverson in the game, if so how was his braids, where they up to date?

Fri Aug 29, 2003 1:41 am

I know this is a PC site but i like playing Live on my xbox than my pc, so it wass more of a console orented question. (I knew it wound sound stupid  )

Fri Aug 29, 2003 1:58 am

has anyone actually seen a preview of what the alley oops look like in this years Live? Do players actually make timely lob passes for the slam or do they just throw up a linear bullet towards the basket and have the team mate automatically jump and dunk it? I really hated how the alley oop was implemeted in 2003

Fri Aug 29, 2003 7:18 am

to answer some questions i didnt play with ai and ailive i dont understand wat u mean on the first adn the alley oops were crap but again it was a beta version and i only got one alley oop out of 10 i think and it was pimp, dirk rolled around the defender and looked at the ball and caught it and slammed it
