The Biggest Snub

Sat Feb 03, 2007 2:53 am

Who do you think was the biggest snub of the all star game?

Sat Feb 03, 2007 3:20 am

Dallas is one of the hottest team, I do not understand why they did not pick J Howard

Sat Feb 03, 2007 3:58 am

When was the last time the leagues leading scorer didn't make the ASG? Carmelo was snubbed big time. I'm sick of him not making the All Star Game, if he doesn't play as a reserve fill in I am gonna be pretty disgusted. The fan voting needs to stop and players whop really deserve it should be there. Glad to see guys like Caron Butler and Richard Hamilton make it.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:03 am

i don't care what your team record is, 24 & 10 = All-Star

Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:11 am

Emeka Okafor has been snubbed from this list nevermind the all-star game. Why do people wanna see Shaq play still? Wait till the Finals when he actually wnats to play.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:27 am

I think Carmelo gave up his chance at being an All Star with his sucker punch and run tactics.

Exactly why are people voting for him in this poll?

Sat Feb 03, 2007 6:04 am

His game deserves it, but his personality, (hitting people) ruined his chances

Sat Feb 03, 2007 6:15 am

KG threw a punch and he's in there. Not the typical role model kinda guy. Regardless of what happened he deserved being there.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 6:23 am

I agree that he should have been in the game. He is a much better player than Tony Parker

Sat Feb 03, 2007 6:48 am

Carmelo averages 31.3 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, and 4 assists per game, and he's not an all-star? Wow.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 6:57 am

Isn't he the leading scorer in the league right now?

No. Link

King_Lebron, Total points don't really count, because Carmelo can't score when he isn't playing.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 7:26 am

I know, but still, points per game gives a wrong picture, because Gilbert Arenas is the leading scorer. But when you name the seasons scoring champ, do you pick from ppg or totalt points?

Sat Feb 03, 2007 7:30 am

You pick from ppg because some players don't play all 82 games to get a fair chance of scoring.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 7:34 am

God dammit! But thats unfair. What about the guys who play 82 games, but maybe score 2-3 points less in the last 20 games becuase they start getting fatigued? Well, there is nothing i can do about it. But in my opinion, Gilbert Arenas is still the leading scorer

Sat Feb 03, 2007 7:47 am

 Its unfair?

Its unfair when a player goes down with injury and just because of that he won't be the scoring champ. Fatigue isn't as bad in a single game than it is in a back to back, so you can't use that as an excuse. Player A will be just as tired in the fourth quarter as Player B, its fair. How can something like an injury that you have no control stopping you from being scoring champ be fair, while its unfair on the guy that plays all his teams games?

Sat Feb 03, 2007 7:55 am

I didnt say it was fair when a guy had an injury. But when you pick from ppg, a player could play one game a whole season, score 43 points in that game, and be the scoring champ. I knwo it is not like that, and you probably have to play over 50 games or something like that in order to be the champ

Seriously, dont even bring up injuries. Carmelo ruined his chances at the MVP, Scoring Champion, and being an all-star by his actions in the Garden brawl.

Melo will not win scoring champion. He won't have played enough games. I guess if we're going to go by "per game" or just percentages, Dwight Howard is the best 3 point shooter in the NBA. He's 1 for 1 at 100%!

Crymelo isn't injured, and he certainly doesn't deserve sympathy after what he did. Thankfully, the voters saw it the same as I did, and he's been effectively snubbed. Better luck next year.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 8:46 am

randolph should replace boozer(injury).

he has been averaging almost 24ppg and 11 boards per game and has had 28 double-doubles this season

also, josh howard should have been named in the side

Sat Feb 03, 2007 9:35 am

Melo will replace Yao 99% sure. Its Howard

Sat Feb 03, 2007 9:38 am

yeah, howard will prob replace boozer

I wasn't talking about Carmelo, I was talking about his point in general.

Melo will not win scoring champion. He won't have played enough games. I guess if we're going to go by "per game" or just percentages, Dwight Howard is the best 3 point shooter in the NBA. He's 1 for 1 at 100%!

No need to be sarcastic here, its obvious that you need to appear in a decent amount of games to be considered, but taking one shot and making it means absolutely nothing.

Crymelo isn't injured, and he certainly doesn't deserve sympathy after what he did. Thankfully, the voters saw it the same as I did, and he's been effectively snubbed. Better luck next year.

Crymelo? I didn't see him crying, he punched Mardy Collins and backed off, stupid thing to to, but big deal. He sucker punched someone, and obviously regrets what he did. He is the leagues leading scorer, he is having an amazing year after being snubbed last year. In my opinion, 31/6/4 and 1.4 steals on 49% is All Star numbers. All Star starter numbers. How can you hold an on court altercation against him when it is to honor players who are having great seasons? his guy has been as good as anyone this season and he deserves to be there. Fan voting is awful.

The only reason he was not voted in way because he punched Mardy Collins. Take a step back and look at that. He punched someone, and he has his All Star spot taken away. His great season thus far is completely stripped of all its worth by people like you because he punched someone. He didn't go any further, he just punched a player who committed a stupid act on the court before him, Carmelo got heated up, and punched him. The All Star game is about how players play. Carmelo has been one of the best of them this season and deserved to be there, yet people like to bring up things that have absolutely nothing to do with how they play and cost them their first chance to be an All Star in his fourth season of an already great career.

Sat Feb 03, 2007 10:19 am

People will find any excuse to keep Melo out of the game it seems to happen every year, but i still dont know why he wasnt selected last year? nevermind ive got used to it by now. Hes got a lot of haters who look for things to hate him such as the brawl etc. No one cares if hes the leading scorer because he did this and that i just dont know why everyone hates him it doesnt make sense.
