in my opinion they should have a true SF playing the 2nd forward spot instead of Duncan, such as Melo, Marion etc..
I dont see why they have KG and TD both out there at once... Both Beeing PF's.

he was the coach last year, can't be coach 2 years in a row

I'm surprised Gilbert pulled off the unthinkable, passing VC in voting. Guess those 50point games and all his smart comments got known and people realized he was deserving.

Centers: Shaquille O'Neal (Mia) 1,622,446; Dwight Howard (Orl) 1,464,613; Ben Wallace (Chi) 788,950; Alonzo Mourning (Mia) 338,904; Andrew Bogut (Mil) 256,579; Zaza Pachulia (Atl) 244,507; Nazr Mohammed (Det) 217,067; Eddy Curry (NY) 202,010; Zydrunas Ilgauskas (Clev) 196,000; Primoz Brezec (Char) 164,734.

:D how did Nazr Mohammed and zaza pachuila get more votes than curry?

Also, though he wasn't a starter, Shane Battier with 3 times as many votes is a joke. How does a mediocre role player get a million votes. Also, Shaq starting is absurd. Who are those people who vote for him?! Howard totally deserved the starting spot. The only bright side to the starting lineups is Gilbert Arenas, who is 100000 times better than Vince Carter. Also, it is nice to see Bosh.

First of all, where did you get the idea basketball fans hate Nash??
Second, I agree that Battier doesn't deserve those votes and currently, it looks like he will make the All-Star team.
Third, the ASG is for show. Espicially that it's held in Vegas this year. Fans are going to vote for who they want a good show from.
Last, Arenas isn't that much a step up from Carter. I see Arenas as pretty arrogant he must be happy he got voted in this year instead of replacing someone. And Bosh deserves that starting spot more than anyone else.

The votes are only for starters. The coaches select the reserves. No coach in their right mind would vote for Shane Battier to be an All-Star. And he only got the votes because he plays for the same team as Yao.

Jason Kapono for 3 point champ! (Finally a season for consistency and minutes)

Oh, give Redick more minutes and give him the ball for 3's and he would be in the 3 PT Shootout no doubt.

Your a tit! Have you ever heard of training practice, you dont become a better shooter by playing games (even tho its helps, its not a bloody computer game where your stats go up) If you practice consistanlty and correctly any three ball player has a chance of winning, and since when has the favourite won....? arsehole

Well I'm a good three point shooter but I haven't gotten any invites to the 3 point shootout... Maybe its because they don't see me shoot it?

Seriously, you go to the 3 point shootout if you shoot the 3 well in games, it's not like they have 3 point shootout scouts or something come and watch you in practice.

If I would pick the seven reserves, they would be:

East: Billups, D. Howard, Pierce, J. O'Neal, Kidd, Butler, Hamilton
Snubs: Carter, J. Johnson, Curry, Big Ben

West: J. Howard, Nowitzki, Nash, Boozer, Marion, Iverson, Anthony
Snubs: B. Davis, D. Williams, R. Allen, E. Brand, Z. Randolph, M. Camby

Oh, and sorry about going off on the starters, a few of the selections just pissed me off.

East: Carter, Jermaine, Pierce, Kidd, Johnson, D.Howard, Hamilton
West: Nowitzki, Melo, Nash, Iverson, Stoudemire, J.Howard, Boozer
West has too many people to consider......Their side is just stacked...
Wonder who the East coach will be...Mike Brown or Eddie Jordan?

Methinks for the West, instead of bringing in a replacement centre just move Duncan to C, so...

F – Kevin Garnett
F – Tracy McGrady
C – Tim Duncan
G – Kobe Bryant
G – Steve Nash

Got to have the MVP in there, right?

Mmm... not quite. Nash is cool, but not really a fan. More of an admirer. but c'mon, he's two time MVP, is he not?

East

C: Shaquille O'Neal - Correct
F: Chris Bosh - Correct
F: LeBron James - Correct
G: Vince Carter - Correct (though incorrect about him starting)
G: Dwyane Wade - Correct

Gilbert Arenas - Correct (though incorrect about him being a reserve)
Jason Kidd - Correct
Jermaine O'Neal - Correct
Dwight Howard - Correct
Ben Wallace - Incorrect
Joe Johnson - Incorrect
Caron Butler - Correct

West

C: Amare Stoudemire - Correct (though it remains to be seen whether he'll start)
F: Tim Duncan - Correct
F: Kevin Garnett - Correct
G: Tracy McGrady - Correct
G: Kobe Bryant - Correct

Dirk Nowitzki - Correct
Steve Nash - Correct
Allen Iverson - Correct
Carlos Boozer - Correct
Josh Howard - Incorrect
Shawn Marion - Correct
Marcus Camby- Incorrect (though he may still be named as an injury replacement)

20/24 thus far, perhaps 21/24 after Yao's replacement is announced. I can't say I disagree with any of the selections though I would have taken Josh Howard over Tony Parker.

Tony Parker????? please......Howard, Johnson, Allen, Derron having better seasons. I think this might be one of those inadvertant picks by the coaches.....since they cant vote for their own players, why not vote for someone who's not as good and not many people will vote for....looks like it backfired

What the big story? He did have an all-star year, then the fight, and he has been playing like shit lately, since coming of suspension. yes he does get his 31 PPG, but ballhogging to get them, taking stupid shots when u got 3 guys on you, fucking up in the end of the game...yea...good to see AI getting on the team!

I agree with all but 1 selection. Tony Parker?! How does THAT happen? He has been having a terrible season. While Melo doesn't deserve to be an all-star at this point, he would be a better pick than TP. Deron and Josh Howard are way better... No idea how this happened, but hopefully the replacement is good. Watch them pick Kirilenko. :P

Josh Howard deserved to be there instead of Tony Parker if you hold Carmelo' suspension against him, but as the fill in for the injured Yao I seriously can't see Carmelo being left off if this is true:

ESPN wrote:Stern said he expected to make his decision in the next few days, and that when doing so he wouldn't consider the suspension he gave Anthony for the punch the Denver star hit the Knicks' Mardy Collins with on Dec. 16.

But then again, why not do that when selecting the original reserves anyway?
