Postby frenchy on Mon Jan 22, 2007 2:07 am

Hello All

The february trade deadline is coming soon, so why not posting all the rumors or real trades in only one thread! :D

Lastest rumor : Pau Gasol could be traded to Chicago (NY post)
link : http://www.hoopshype.com/rumors.htm

your opinion?

Mohamed to GSW but who will go to detroit : Ellis & Pietrus (I like that one) or Richardson ?

I don't think having every trade in one thread is smart. It gets confusing and doesn't really give you a "blockbuster" feel if a blockbuster trade is pulled.

Might as well just put all NBA talk in an "NBA Thread" and call it a day. Sorry, I no like.

Like hell that would ever happen. Even one of them would be a horrible trade.

I think they will probably send a shooting guard or a point guard if it's a one for one deal. Someone like Sarunas Jasikevicius or possibly Stephen Jackson although I doubt Detroit is after him for obvious reasons.

i agree here, it would be wise to have 1 thread for all rumors instead of a million different rumor threads but each actual trade should receive its own topic.

Trading for Gasol is a good idea, his stock is low. Even he turns out to be a bust any team probably won't gave to give much up for him. IMO he's a good #2 option but not a good #1 scorer...he definitely likes to pass & set people up. Very Odom or Pippen like, to a lesser degree.

gasol could own any PF east playa, so some teams could improve on east with him on team, like bulls, heat, nets

only raptors with bosh or pistons with wallace's dont need him

Wallace wants some good PF next to him. But Memphis want's Gordon, Deng and Hinrich for him. If i were the bulls GM, i'll say no.

The Memphis Grizzlies are asking the Chicago Bulls for at least two of three players – Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, and Kirk Hinrich – in a trade scenario for center Pau Gasol. Unless that changes, the Bulls won't go through with the deal.

The Chicago Bulls are interested in acquiring Memphis Grizzlies' center Pau Gasol, and that's just fine with the Bulls' power forward. "That'd be cool," Wallace said. "He's one of those guys who has improved almost every year he's been in the league."

This is also interesting :

The Los Angeles Clippers and the New Jersey Nets did have a semi-serious discussion about a trade where Shaun Livingston and Corey Maggette would move over to the Nets for Marcus Williams and Vince Carter. However, the deal died about a week ago. However, it's possible that the teams could re-open talks before the trade deadline next month.

If you're talking about a specific rule thats written down, I don't think there is one, though I do remember there being a date, around December 17th or something, that rookies could not be traded until then. If this is wrong, someone please correct me.

Surely this couldn't happen? No way you'd make that trade if you were NJ, Maggette and Livingston are Good, but for Carter? Nup.

i really really really want Gasol on the nets roster, so far theyve supposedly offered VC for Gasol but they'd want a first rounder. If we get above .500 b4 the deadline i say offer them vc and the pick. Nets went to the nba finals twice when they had a decent inside presence (Martin). getting gasol would be sweet

I don't know why anyone would want to trade for Vince right now. He's just going to leave at the end of the season. You must really be trying to tank your franchise if you make a move for him.

I heard the Celtics were trying to get Gasol by dangling Al Jefferson, which is horrible horrible horrible. The kid is a double-double machine as of late; too bad it doesn't translate into any wins.

Yea, he must be having fun rebounding and tipping in all those missed Celtic shots. The 3.5 offensive boards puts him roughly 5th.
