Damn, Nash is playing like an MVP again this season. Maybe if he didn't win it back in 2004-2005, he may actually win it for this season. Unless the Suns finish with the best record by a huge margin, and he keeps up all the numbers (not to mention excellent shooting percentages), and he just absolutely pwns the whole league, I don't think he can get a 3-peat.
EDIT:
December 13th Update: Andrea Bargnani scores 23 points tonight, including 5-8 from 3, plus six rebounds. Just a hint of what to expect from Bargnani in the future, but of course with more rebounds

.

I'm really liking what I'm seeing from JJ Redick tonight. He's getting a good run and producing, looks like he's over his numerous injuries and his shot is still as nice as ever. He had a couple of pretty passes too, looks real comfortable out there.

Iverson with 22 points but it's not enough , the Nuggets lose their first game with AI : 101 - 96.
Sat Dec 23, 2006 5:16 pm
2-6 from FT line from AI...horrible.
Sun Dec 24, 2006 7:43 am
So I was reading about Marcus Camby's recent injury and came upon this
Five games shy of his personal ironman streak, Marcus Camby has gone down. The Nuggets center suffered a fracture in the ring finger on his right hand Monday against Washington. Nuggets coach George Karl is hopeful he can return just before the end of the month. Before sitting out Friday against Sacramento, Camby had played in all 23 games this season, five shy of his best streak of 28 set as a rookie in 1995-96.
That is truly sad. What a pansy.

28 hahaha. Seems as though this past week has been injury week.
Sun Dec 24, 2006 3:29 pm
Now Yao Ming is injured and is expected to be out at least 6 weeks.
The Rockets are falling again...Mcgrady with the back spasms and now Yao with the fractured bone in his foot.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I checked nba.com, and you see Yao injured, Monta Ellis, Krstic, Camby and other players missing a couple weeks/games with injuries

someone started a thread "Is this real" so I thought it was about the current Wizards - Grizzlies score. When I read it and found out it had nothing to do with it I decide to post the halftime score here.
Washington 73 - Memphis 47 : 1 minute left until halftime
HOW DO YOU PUT UP 73 POINTS IN ONE HALF?
Thu Dec 28, 2006 3:12 am
the wizards are on fire right now....
wish i could say the same about the nets. they would've beaten the pistons last night, but the refs seemed to be watching a totally different game and made such bs'ed calls.
Sat Dec 30, 2006 9:06 pm
was that Rasheed getting a favourable call? couldn't have been
anyways, Billups is out 10-14 days.....will probably see more Blalock....he's been fairly good running the offense in the same manner as Billups has, but he aint that type of scorer.
Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:47 am
Just saw Mcgrady's performance today against the lowly Hawks. He was on fire. Calling Mr. Arenas someone's trying to blow your wind out of the water too dude
Sun Dec 31, 2006 1:52 am
WTF is going on with Mo Williams? played Center against the spurs, now he puts out Kidd-like-Stats every night!
Sun Dec 31, 2006 2:08 am
Pacers Beat Detroit Again!! When we start beating these Sub .500 teams, we will be up there in the East!!! We better win tonight, we have no choice!!
Wizards are playing great, I doubt they'll continue like this the rest of the season
Sun Dec 31, 2006 7:11 am
Officials fucked up another late game call. Brandon Roy was clearly fouled hard on the last play of the game for the Blazers, who were down by 2 points. No call was made, and Philly held on for the victory. I don't care if it does even out in the end or not. This is supposed to be the highest level of basketball, with the best officials. There's no room for such horrid officiating, and it seems like it happens almost every night. Just the other day, the Nets got the shaft and were screwed out of a possible victory against the Pistons. There needs to be something done to counteract this, perhaps giving each team a challenge like in football. It seems like the NBA has too many rules for the refs to keep up with sometimes.

Mo Williams didn't play C

it was a mistake with the box scores.

Even though the Grizzlies played the Raptors, they finally got a W
The uptempo style of play really did help, especially in the first quarter as they scored 39 points. Mike went off with seven 3's, and the bench looked alot better with Barone using the 10-man rotation again. Good to see a win under a new coach, should be SOME type of turnaround coming up.

There goes Oden.....maybe ya'll can have Joakim Noah?

One win doesn't jeopardize the team from getting Oden
. And I'm not a big Noah fan either, I can't see him being a double-double guy in the NBA. But, I don't think the Grizzlies really need a big man anyway, Alexander Johnson and Lawerence Roberts are right for the job. They compliment Pau well, what the Grizzlies really need is a star SG. Lowry suppose to be back next month and that will be the PG that they were missing. Even though some still may not consider Pau a center, with the type of pace Memphis is running now it shouldn't be a major problem. I can't wait to see how things are if once Lowry can enter the starting lineup. And West guarenteed in the interview after firing Fratello that Memphis will bring in a star, if not, a very significant player that will help the team tremendously due to the money they will have in the off-season. So, they would either wait til' the offseason to sign some big name player, or try to get rid of Stoudamire, Eddie Jones, Tsakalidis and maybe an 07' 1st rdr before the trading deadline.

Not if they get the first pick and Oden's there. If they want a star swingman, and don't manage to get the 1st pick, I would go with Kevin Durant. He isn't a SG, but either he or Rudy could play that position. He can rebound, block shots, play defence, shoot the 3... he's basically my dream player. Other than that their best bet would be Marcus Williams or Daequan Cook, and I don't think either of them are at or will reach Durants' level in the pros. Then there is Julian Wright who looks pretty good, but he's strictly SF, and still not at Durants level.
Durants stats so far as a freshman at Texas: PPG 21.6 | APG 1.5 | RPG 9.9 | SPG 1.7 | BPG 1.9 | MPG 30.9
Tue Jan 02, 2007 8:25 pm
yeah your right....Durant will probably go #2.
Cant wait for 2morrows matchup of Howard vs Brand!!!!!
Tue Jan 02, 2007 9:02 pm
Damn that sounds sexy... Howard v Brand.
Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:02 pm
Howard shuts brand down in the 4th
Wed Jan 03, 2007 2:30 pm
I saw the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter.
Commentator: "UH OH!" when Dwight Howard ripped an alley-oop lol.
Thu Jan 04, 2007 1:46 pm
I think Oden will need a cane by the time he makes it to the NBA. That guy looks like he's 50.
On the topic of the Grizzlies... wow, what a night scoring. 144 points in regulation! Barone has instantly made them an offensive threat.
