Corey Maggette: next star to demand a trade

Wed Dec 20, 2006 3:08 pm

So Maggette is being shopped heavily and like Iverson has basically demanded a trade from the Clippers as he doesnt see eye to eye with Dunleavy.

He is a great player and would be useful to many teams. Who do you guys think will get him.

Report on RealGM that Maggette would love to go back to Orlando

Corey Maggette would like to be dealt out of Los Angeles and the former Magic swingman recently told the Orlando media that he would love a return.

"Write a headline for me," Maggette said.

So many players demanding trades these days.

It makes me wonder that now Iverson is on a contender, would KG want to do the same?

Toronto is also looking at Maggette, and they have a few sg/sf positions they'd give up: Jones, Peterson, Graham.

Nah, Garnett said a little over a week ago that he isn't upset being in Minnesota and he wants to stick it out here. I don't think his opinion has changed.

Hmm, this is funny, I used play NBA Live 2003 ( ) and used to do a fantasy draft with Orlando. Every single time I drafted Corey Maggette...

I hate these players demanding trades. . .Be Men and professionals!! Magette's mad cause he's not starting. . .

Well he is a guy that deserves minutes.
He needs to start fresh somewhere.
With the given minutes he is given in LA, he is making every minutes worth.

26 Minutes
15 PPG
6 RPG
2 APG
1 BPG

With a new start somewhere, he can start fresh and become a leader even for the new team.

I wouldn't mind him being in Toronto. Need a 2nd scoring option to Bosh. Seems like at this point, we don't really have one of those.

Interesting take there.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 5:04 pm

Maybe the Bulls might target him, he would be perfect for what they need, Kirk cant keep playing SG and Gordon is solid off the bench so with Maggette and Hinrich in the backcourt it would be a solid team.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 6:33 pm

Except for the fact that they are overloaded with swingmen. Gordon, Deng, Nocioni, Sefolosha, Griffin, Khryapa are plenty. What they really need is a starting calibre PF. Thomas is at least a season away, Sweetney shows signs then does absolutely nothing, Malik Allen isn't great and PJ Brown I think wants out. Just someone like Udonis Haslem would do the job.

f*ck that shit man if i was KG i wouldn't give a damn shit about MN long time ago. They havent done sht for the organization and if they tried they failed so KG please demand your trade ASAP! coz the more you wait the longer it will take for you to get a ring.

not really...

i rekon maggette has alot of wasted potential, it would be good for him to get traded to a team thats rebuilding so he could fit right in

Wed Dec 20, 2006 10:06 pm

I think it says something about his defense when Q Ross is regarded more highly by Dunleavy. It's a shame though because Corey's a great player and a scorer, which the Clips need right now.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 10:54 pm

The main problem with Maggette is he can never stay healthy.

Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:21 am

I remember Indiana could have gotten him for Artest, but he was hurt. . .We could use him right about now!! I don't knoa how he is off the court

Thu Dec 21, 2006 7:10 am

Yeah I think Maggette going to Indiana is a good deal. If its possible the Pacers could send Stephen Jackson which is filling in the Clippers need for a 3pt shooter that has been stated in trade rumours involving Maggette eg. Maggette going to Grizzlies for Mike Miller.

Thu Dec 21, 2006 7:51 am

I think the Sonics should try to get Maggette and someone else for Rashard Lewis. Rashard as all-star potential, and both teams need a roster shake-up....

Thu Dec 21, 2006 8:00 am

Didn't you use the same line when Iverson was brought up? Just replacing Maggette with Iverson?

Thu Dec 21, 2006 8:06 am

Damn it. I know I fucked up in Sit's old dynasty topic, but not here. I checked my old posts even, and no, I never mentioned Lewis for Iverson.

As much as I want Rashard out, I never said that.

Thu Dec 21, 2006 6:15 pm

orlando wouldnt take maggette, theyll save that swingman position for vince carter :(

Thu Dec 21, 2006 8:39 pm

Maggette for Payton Walke and Doleac,I wish.

Fri Dec 22, 2006 1:38 am

Why doesn't Maggette start, anyway? I never figured that one out and don't see too many Clippers games. Do they just like Ross's defense? It's not like Cassell/Livingston and Mobley are great perimeter scorers who can create their own shot. Seems weird like Battier starting instead of McGrady would be.

Fri Dec 22, 2006 2:04 am

Quinton Ross is a very underrated player. He is one of the better defensive players in the game. The Clippers love his defense so he gets the start.

Fri Dec 22, 2006 3:33 am

I still want KG in LA at any cost not including Kobe or Bynum.

As for Maggette, wouldnt mind him in a Lakers uni. Maybe a deal sending Lamar back across town....or maybe not after thinking of Lamar's rebounding value.

lol, you actually would exclude bynum in a deal that could bring kg to the lakers? if i was the lakers and minn called me about trading kg i would basically let them have thier pick with the exception of kobe. after you have those 2 together and if they could work together the rest would fall in place. so needless to say i hope that kg never makes it to la

Okay, I still want Kobe in Minnesota at any cost not including Kevin Garnett or Randy Foye.
