if the team chemistry is good, players arn't suspended and when no one is injured they will have a crazy starting line up:

C: M. Camby
PF. K. Martin (When he is not injured)
SF. C. Anthony (When he comes back)
SG. J.R. Smith (When he comes back)
PG. A. Iverson

I bet u this will be the 2007-2008 starters

You see the tattoos and the hip hop image and you just assume AI has a huge ego. Truth is, he wants to win over anything, and that's all he cares about. Iverson will be more then happy to defer to Carmello if they are winning ball games. My only question is whether or not Carmello will be willing to defer.

No, his past assumes he has a huge ego. Him getting into piss fights with 2 different coaches, him thinking he can skip stuff that the "regular" players can't. He thinks he's special like T.O.

yay... plenty of shots to go around in the Denver offense- they lead the league in that

give the trade some time before saying the Nuggets will suck ass.

iverson in baby blue and gold. that'll be a site to see. Iguodala playing with a "pass first" pg, that should be interesting to follow as well

if there is a team that lost in this trade- it's Minnesota. this should assure Denver a playoff spot and teams like Sacto, Clippers, and even New Orlenas are good enough to take the 8th spot away from the t'wolves

Hey asshole just post this in the other ongoing threade.

That thread is full of clutter. I dont know who the asshole is. Who knows how this will turn out. Could be the Knicks all over again. I cant belive the 76ers settled for that, they should of asked for Camby or Smith also. They got owned on this trade.

The point was to get youth and an expiring contract. They got that with two first rounders in the deepest draft since 03-04, and an expiring in Joe Smith. Also, I believe Andre Miller is an awesome addition for down the line, since there aren't any great PGs in the upcoming draft. They are now officially in the Greg Oden sweepstakes. That, combined with a top-5 passing PG and a developing Andre Iguodala are good pieces to build around. In the East, that's all you need to contend.

Sweet, Welcome to Denver AI! Hopefully he'll fit in great with our fastbreaking style, since he's fast and as long as him and Melo share the ball, we'll be on top. Great trade for Denver and now everyone is thrilled about Iverson in here (y)

I tihnk the history of Philly w/ AI will show that Denver will never win a ring with him. There has been talent & scorers around Iverson throughout his career, but they never went far (the finals in 2001 was a fluke. the East was garbage that year)

Jan 2 Philly@Denver!!!!!

Kinda disappointed he went to the Nuggets. Ah well, best of luck to the guy. The 1-2 punch of him and Garnett would have been much better to watch.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 11:54 am

Wow what a good trade for the Nuggets. Their offence is gonna be up there with Suns and maybe better. Itll be interesting to see two shoot-first players operating together though; we might see A.I develop more into a passer to cancel the two out. The Nuggets should be big title contenders now.

Really decent trade for 76'ers as well. Andre Miller is in my opinion very underrated, and JR Smith along with those draft picks really are probably the reasonably best 76'ers could have gotten.

This was a must though for Denver. Without Carmelo until late in January, Nuggets needed someone who can -push the issue- and score some points through will. Iverson also seems to match into Nuggets extremely well, though I believe the better match would have been the T'Wolves.

And East is not garbage this year?

Denver has a shot for a really good run this year. Championship probably not, maybe next year (but then again Heat pulled this off, aka the 'new top player in the team and championship the same year' thing).

I don't like George Karl personally that much, but he has the raw and rough persona that may push the team far. I love his offensive playbook though, Denver is fun to watch in offense, though an important element is substituted now (Millers strong passing traded for Iversons heated shooting). It is not to be forgotten that Karl made a huge run back in 96, only to be defeated by what is considered the greatest team ever who broke NBA winning record that same year. Sonics was also a team with two superstars, both controversial players, Kemp and Payton.

This will be definetly fun to see :)

lol! What was I thinking, Joe! Was reading a report saying J Smith and instantly thought JR. Well, this really was a steal for Denver then, but that was what everybody thought it would be anyway.

Yeah its Joe Smith not J.R Smith.

There always is a honeymoon period and I fully expect Iverson and Carmelo to get along well for atleast this season. However, I can see them having problems with each other or with Coach Karl in the future.

Also, Denver is going to have a lot of cap problems with the contracts of Anthony, Iverson, Nene and Kenyon Martin. You add those up along with the "average" salaries of Marcus Camby, Earl Boykins and Eduardo Najera and you have a team that has a pretty high payroll.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 12:23 pm

One thing to say...

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I don't care if Carmelo is the second threat (which he won't be, just if he is) I want to see him out of the first round and as close to the NBA finals as possible.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 12:23 pm

Good trade, Miller wasnt playing the best and hasnt suited this team the day he first came here, he is too slow and plays half court game which is completely opposite to Denver.

Iverson will be great in Denver. In the playoffs whos gonna double who? double Melo Iverson is free Double Iverson Melo is free. Now we will get past the first round easily.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 12:26 pm

K-Mart and Nene wont last long in Denver and Camby is coming to the end of his Career so he will be retiring in a few years i expect.

All eyes will be on Iverson, but it's too bad Melo won't be in that game.

Wed Dec 20, 2006 2:26 pm

not a bad trade, GL to AI. I wonder how KG is feeling right now, Iverson demands a trade and now is in a very strong team who will most likely go deep into the playoffs, maybe win a championship. KG may do the same... who knows
