So far in the season, Emeka is looking really good. I knew he was playing pretty good, but I just checked out his stats so far and Im pretty impressed. Over time though Dwight will become the better player, all he needs is a better post game and a better basketball IQ. Though it looks as though he has worked on his footwork abit in the offseason.
DWIGHT THE MIGHT HOWARD will be the next AMARE STOUDEMIRE

I'd take Dwight over Amare right now, and any day.

Yeah Dwight is better than Amare at the moment. I don't think Amare can get back to the stage where he was scoring 25 ppg in the 2004 - 2005 season.

Dwight is 6-11 but is sometimes listed as 7-0 while Amare is only 6-10. I'm still a Stoudemire fan i still think he will be a good player he just needs the pt.

I honestly think that Dwight and even Bosh will be bigger than Amare... and Amare will fade into obscurity.

I have to agree. Everyone has been hyped about Amare's return and he has failed to perform.

Failed to perform my ass. Hes had two double doubles when starting. He was just not getting any playing time at the start. Bosh and Dwight will most likely be better but if Amare never got injured then he would probably be up there in MVP votes. I think he will still be an All-star player.

I'm not even sure if I could call him an All-Star player with the ammount of quality players in the Western Conference he'd need to beat.. heck, I'm not sure if I would call him one based on stats.

Well hes already an all-star player seeing as he made it back in 05. If he becomes his old self again and gets back into form which atm is looking quite possible then he will become a superstar. He is one tough cookie if you ask me.

Another thing about Amare, he would get a lot more points if the Suns actually passed him the ball, i just saw some of the game and a few times he was wide open and didnt get the pass. I think they are still skeptical on passing him the ball. That putback Jam he did was pretty nasty. I'm impressed with Amare, hes really proving the haters wrong and showing hes still got the goods, at least he didnt bomb out and try and get injured every game like K-mart did.

Failed to perform?

Not many people come back from microfracture surgery and still perform. Amare has.

Look at his stats - around 12 and 6. Yes, those aren't impressive. But then look at his minutes - 20mpg. Amare when healthy is at least a 35mpg player. So +15 is 3/4s of 20. Add another three quarters of his stats on to that and you'll see what he is capable of producing coming right off knee surgery after one year off at 35mpg.

The answer is approximately 21ppg and 10.5rpg. IMO, thats all star numbers. Amare looks very good so far (an no, not just telling from box scores) and he looks alot quicker and "bouncier" than I would of expected after microfracture surgery. Amare is on his way back up, he'll be fine.

Not performing is something you say when you look at an all star caliber player like Amare and see his current averages while not noting he has just taken a year off, has had knee surgery, and isn't getting a whole lot of minutes.

10.5rpg

Amare's never averaged more than 9rpg, despite 35+mins....it's a bit presumptuous to assume he'll get 10+

Can anyone fill me in on where the hell Baron Davis is? He played the entire first quarter and had 8/2/2, didn't play the second, played about 5 minutes on the third and hasnt been on since... did he get injured? :(

Hell. Monta Ellis is going to be the Most Improved Player or the Sixth man award.. He's playing way better than people expect him to be..

I hate seeing BD on an injury.. He always plays at superstar level.. The problem is that he always gets injured..

Dwyane Wade is back. Leading his team to victory with declining stars on his team. This may be a start of a new era. Lets see if he can do what he did in the finals.

Take one look at the Rookie Rankings and I think you can agree that at this point, this year's class looks pretty horrible. Some of those in the top10 wouldnt even be there if this was any other year, while those who can score are shooting horrible percentages.

With no good real big men, Dwight Howard is gonna kill the Grizz tonight.

indeed he did, with another 20-20 game, but Magic lost. Hakim Warrick had a nice game. Grizzlies should look into trading Pau Gasol and get themselves a SG or C in return. Warrick is the future @PF.

Dammit, I fell asleep. Sounds like it was a good game.

I don't think Warrick is their future at PF, he is far too weak and skinny at least at the moment to really be consistantly effective in the post. He had a good game today, but look at his season to date:

(P/R/A) (FGM-FGA)

26/10/1 vs ORL (11-19)

6/6/1 @ DAL (1-13)

26/8/1 vs DAL (10-16)

4/2/0 @ SAC (0-2)

10/7/1 @ LAL (3-6)

12/4/1 @ PHX (5-8)

7/3/0 vs HOU (3-6)

21/6/5 @ DET (7-16)

15/6/2 vs CHA (4-9)

22/12/1 vs NYK (9-14)

Those numbers look pretty inconsistant to me, plus factor in 3 blocks in total so far this season, and he looks like even less of a big man. Then again, right now he's playing with Stromile Swift downlow, who isn't exactly going to be double teamed or pressured a whole lot. Maybe if Pau comes back at C and Warrick at PF he could find it very easy with Gasol being doubled plus the fact that Pau is a pretty good passer. I really think it's too early to tell, plus if Hakim wants to play in the post he really has to bulk up. Its seems as though lately the NBA has gone more towards the back-to-the-basket style of play again in terms of power forwards.

For now, Pau is still the face of the franchise. He pretty much went for 20/9/5 last season which is great.

Since I fell asleep within the opening minutes, could you fill me in on Kyle Lowry's performance? 16/5/6 + 5 steals and no turnovers is very impressive considering Kyles' fast paced and sometimes sloppy style.

touche, but this is his only his 2nd season and his first taste at starting.

and he's got nothing to show for it.....the guy just isn't a winner. He got badly outhustled by Dirk Nowitzki in Rnd 1.
