I think that superstars need individuality and also other player who arent superstars.. Its their thing.. Its like their personality and the comissioner should respect it.. The players dont tell stern to wear NBA gear whenever he goes to games.. So whats the point of robbing the players off their personalities.. In every rule made.. There will be about 40% that would be breaking them..

Because it gives them individuality.. Thats what they want to be.. Its just soooo unfair..

I guess the league is trying to help the black community.. since many follow NBA Stars as role models...by making NBA players more professional looking (must come to games looking decent) and now less things to distinguish themselves from everyone in the game making them focus more on the game than what they wearing.

I'm pretty sure that those actions don't have anything to do with helping the black community. If anything, it separates itself even moreso from the black community. Maybe in reality he's trying to help the white community? Perhaps he's trying to make the white players feel even more united the black players by dressing them alike. Eh, it's a touchy subject as to how much race is involved in these decisions. I can tell you first off that an NBA player's appearance isn't what black youth aim to look like. Turn on BET, it's the rappers that everyone wants to dress like. And it's not necessarily TV icons' attire that makes black people dress the way they do, sometimes it's just the people around you and what they wear. Who's to say that current fashion is bad? All it is is one person's opinion. Stern sees it as dressing "thuggish" but does that mean that Stephon Marbury sees it the same way? Of course not, because he knows nothing different. It's almost like Stern's trying to take the black out of the NBA.

I think whenever this current (or past now) image of the NBA decreases it's ratings and appeal, that's when the changes should be made. At this rate, how long until dunking is banned? Steve Nash can't dunk so do you think that in order to be fair nobody should dunk? Plus as stated before it's not like that these bands and stuff affect performance.

Looks like your still allowed to wear sleeves etc. Wade is wearing one in tonights game, maybe the rules arent in full effect yet? but heaps of people have so called banned accessories on.

Like I had said before, Nate Robinson was wearing a sleeve almost all of pre-season. I don't think they are banned, as the list or w/e only mentions wristbands.

how come players still wear sweatbands on their elbows and stuff like the rule doesn't even exist? I'm glad they still wear them like that...

I think they aren't allowed on the bicep only...
