Won’t the idea of the people themselves editing their posts to say if they predicted right or not bring on a lot of potential cheating? I recon it would be better to just have a few (2, 3 or maybe even 4) people in charge of checking the results. That way, it will get updated much more often (as soon as one of those people gets to it)... It's my suggestion anyways...

Anyways, if you need any help with this I'm up for it (y)

Andreas, that has never been a problem before. All the votes get recorded right before game time. Plus it's not like you can't see if someone edited their post or not.

Ok, well, as long as the predictions are saved beforehand it's all good.

Does anyone have a link to the old one? (I could only find the last playoff prediction when searching.) I'd like to check that out and see how that was done.

Thanks (y) Just some ideas on how to make it more smooth:
How about an extra day or two in each prediction so that there won't have to be so much of a workload for you?
And what about templates in advance, so people will use the same form..

Well, if this is some sort of tipping game, then I would like to be in...

How are we gonna tip? Just predict win/loss or also tip 'by 10/20/30 points', etc?

Why dont we do it like we did last year? Someone (like Axel) posts the schedules for the day, and people say who will and who will lose for every game. Then someone will calculate everyones scores and put it in the leaderboard.

I like the idea for doing these in advance , Andreas. I'm right now loading up excel and setting up a spreadsheet for all this so I dont have to tally each person's score by hand.

I think I'm going to go for predictions in 3 day blocks. I can post schedules, and enter the scores into the spreadsheet if someone else can tally up the scores for me. I'll also publish a score report bimonthly (remind me though, i might forget)

Maybe if we put different posters in a different maybe location-based division and for each division we have someone tallying up scores so it's less work for each person?

Then it would be faster flowing and easier for everyone?

just a suggestion!

And judging from where everyone is from... we can name the divisions:

Europe
NZ
Aus
And 2 divisions of posters from North America
And other

or something like that...

I like the suggestion, but the idea of breaking the task up even more would involve more people, and people cannot always be counted on. I think if done correctly, it shouldn't be too difficult. The spreadsheet is doing the majority of the calculations for me.

how does everyone have the sorry Hawks over the Sixers? :shake:
honestly, I think they are a much improved team. one of their knocks on them last year was they had no bench. well in Germany, their bench beat the Suns' starters (yes, I know it was only an exhibiton game). If Dalembert's hammy is good to go, then the Sixers should win.
