Hey he Damn near rebuilt the Rockets from the ground up with the way he played night in and night out. Even if he did it by himself, he was determined to bring the city of Houston happiness despite only making the playoffs 1nce and being a 4-time allstar.
T-Mac might be great, but Francis was their heart and soul. He was that Big Little Guy

Francis has only had 1 injury-ridden season, and that was after Olajuwon was traded.
Other than that, he's been just fine.

20.9 his rookie year.

What the hell are you rambling about? I know Steve was great in Houston, I said that myself. That doesn't take away from what I said in the first place. He's struggled finding his game ever since he left Houston, and he would have run into the same wall he's run in to at this point even if he still was in Houston. Francis isn't finished being an all star, not by a long shot. But you trade him to get Tracy McGrady every time, you can't argue that.

You're right I would trade him for T-Mac any day of the week except gameday.
But what I'm saying is, look at how much he put back into the city of Houston. Look at what he did to make the team better.

I think the signing of bonzi just helps them matchup more with the likes of phoenix and dallas. We all know how they got blown up by both teams. Now if they play phoenix or dallas, they have a small athletic team that can run with them(highly unlikely though coz of jvg).

6'5 PF ?
Nahh I know he has the skills but not enough height.
I guess he or Battier will be coming off the bench.

And i have a feeling that whichever of them does will win 6th man of the year.

This is a very very good signing by the rockets. The west is still too deep for them to be pushing for anything beyond a first-round exit. but i can definitely see them playing playoff basketball.

Maybe they signed him so they could move some other guards along to get a PF, well thats what i would do if i were the GM

Lineup:

PG - Alston/ Head / Lucas / Spanoulis
SG - Snyder / Wells / Sura / Jacobsen / Azubuike
SF - McGrady / Battier / Hayes / Bowen
PF - Howard / Novak
C - Yao / Mutumbo / Haryasz

Now a few of these will be cut but still look at the cram at SG and PG and the lesser at PF. This team may sound good but it dont look all that good on paper.

You got the depth chart wrong man.. Head is a SG, Azubuike isn't gonna make the cut, and Sura's done. Hayes is a PF, and Bowen is junk(too bad he's still on the team)
So a revised version would look like this:

PG - Alston/Lucas/Spanoulis
SG - Wells/Snyder/Jacobsen/Head
SF - Mcgrady/Battier/Bowen
PF - Howard/Hayes/Novak
C - Yao/Mutumbo/

The Rocket's don't need a solid SF as of now (Mcgrady is gonna be playing most of the game anyways), but they'll need to get a combo SF, a person who could play both SF and PF, and they should try to get a PF/C since I don't see Mutombo lasting much longer.

They are too thin up front, they don't have a reliable point guard, and they have a coach who refuses to adjust his coaching style to the type of players he has. IMO if they do not make some deals for a PF and/or Pg this team is headed for a first round exit at best. Instead of picking up Bonzi they should have looked at someone like Reggie Evans (before he went back to Denver) to help them on the boards.

IMHO the rockets is a good defensive team, i dont see the need for JVG to change the teams playing style

have you guys seen the preseason games against memphis and atlanta? the rockets are exciting to watch with their guards and small forwards, they have brought a new game to the houston usuals. THEY CAN NOW RUN! ala phoenix suns. this is scary because in some minutes they will be a S........L.....O.....W...... team with yao/bonzi/howard but in other times with the addition of the young guns they will be blazing hot in fast breaks and secondary breaks. teams out there better watch out. like i said before. i like my chances this year

^^ Still in Preseason. Anyways they have a legit chance to contend with the big guns as long as the duo can stay healthy. Health is a premium for this team.

PG - Alston/Lucas/Spanoulis
SG - Wells/Snyder/Jacobsen/Head
SF - Mcgrady/Battier/Bowen
PF - Howard/Hayes/Novak
C - Yao/Mutumbo/

Thats a pretty soft team if you ask me, no physical players what so ever

What do you call a power forward that averages 7 rebounds?
A small forward.
