Oh man, I didn't realize he's old. 35 freaking years old. No wonder his career was on the decline, other than the off-court problems he was/is having.

Can anyone tell me about the Vin Baker of old? I know he was really, really, really, good, but since I wasn't a watcher of basketball when he was playing well can anyone tell me what his strengths/weaknesses/how he played during his prime?

i like to think of him as a shawn kemp minus all the dunks.. they got traded for each other from settle to cleveland and both had off the court problems that messed up there careers

So how long till Riot finds this thread and starts defending Baker and his obesity/alcohol problem and tries to argue that Baker is a top ten forward. Then he will try and argue that Baker will average 15/8 and be the missing piece KG needs to make it to the finals. Its only a matter of time.

 Yes...that is excatly what I am going to say.

It's a quick fix to a problem that has been around all season long. The team has tried to get big men all season long but haven't been able to connect on any of them. The team needed more bulk for sure but this is obviously not Plan A for McHale and the team. It doesn't hurt to try it but I don't expect much out of Baker this year at all. Eddie Griffin could always use a good drinking buddy if anything.

this move doesnt do much. he'll struggle for time, get more DNP-CDs than actual games and wont be on the roster come season's end. If he couldnt do anything for the clippers, he cant do anything for the wolves.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Looking for perhaps the final stop on a career filled with All-Star appearances and alcohol problems, Vin Baker turned to two familiar faces from his past.

Somehow, it seems unlikely. The Celtics, Knicks, Rockets and Clippers have already labelled as such in the past couple of years.

Why is everyone freaking out so bad, its a non-guaranteed contract, he won't even be on the roster.

I agree....I'd also prefer to see Paul Shirley make the team ahead of Baker :P

Although I must say Vin Baker is looking like he is in pretty good shape. I still don't think he'll make the roster or make any kind of impact but check out his photo from media day...

Also, apparently him and Garnett are pretty good friends. I wonder if that had anything to do with the signing.
