This is my favourite one cause i remember that game..and he made the shot too..and the heat won the game. It was a jordanesque move.

Wow, thats amazing. He's not even looking at the hoop.

you mean Derek Anderson? I don't see Posey in the picture.

looks like they called a foul in the act and DA is looking to the ref to see if it was called on the floor or in the act of shooting.

Upon a slightly closer look, you're right, it is Anderon, sorry about that, my bad. Thanks for correcting me :) . Dunno why, but to me, it looks like Anderson either used his left hand to slap himself or is touching his cheek with his left, trying to change the call. "He slapped me, what do you mean Miami foul?"

I think a dunk like that over Alonzo Mourning is probably more impressive.

i think people are missing the point, its to see the best photo not the best highlight. its about taking a photo of a moment and for that reason i think the carter one captures it beutifully.

That VC pic is beautiful...i hope it wins.

Some of these are kinda lame...Shaq doing the same dunk he's always done for years? Kobe's dunked on a lot tougher D than AI.

Here's a fav of mine that didn't make it to the contest

Thank you! We want an objective standpoint on aesthetics without biased favorism. As much as I hate Carter, his photo is aesthetically the best one, not because LeBron is my favorite god and he's dunking over a well known blocking machine.

I only voted for the Lebron one because it looked the coolest. This is about which photo you like the best not which is the best photo.

Kind of silly that they crop the photos to remove the art of good composition. My two favourites are up against each other in the first round.

VC vs. Jamal Crawford

Others I like

Gerald Wallace

Since favorite means what you like the best, I guess you vote for the one you like the best. But I don't really care, vote however you like :) . The VC one is the best photo, but not my favorite, if that makes any sense :| .

The Lebron may have been a powerful dunk, but it's not captured on picture as great as the others. It's not only about the move, it's about how it's displayed: angle and positioning and all of that matters.

The VC and the Wade are just godly.

Lest not forget, the contest is to crown the best 'Photo of the Year'.

And what the hell happened with the Kobe Bryant vs. Jared Jeffries? How on earth could the Kobe picture be considered the better of the two? Damn popularity contest

I personally don't like the Wade one, I'd take the Jamal Crawford one over it anyday, even though it looks like crap when cropped. VC one is the best by far IMO, love the shadows and angle.

Kobe's won 3 in a row, so they obviously didn't want him to get FOUR in a row. :P

Carter's should win this year. Then also it would tie him back up with Kobe with both having won 4 times.

If anyone didn't know or wondered, here's all the past winners.

Wow, this one is awesome. It looks like he's flying. If the VC one wins, it will be the first non-dunk.

Kobe's 2002-03 and 2004-05 ones weren't that great at all. The 2003-04 one reminds me of a Penny Hardaway dunk.
