One of the wasted talents, considered as the next MJ...great player with a sad story

The dunk at 2:55 is absolutely sick. This video is quite sad if you think about it.

The Curse of Orlando!

Exactly what evil ritual did the people of Orlando do to deserve their fate?

Shaq - leaves & establishes his dynasty in LA
Nick Andersen - has mental breakdown and can't hit a free throw
Penny Hardaway - crippled by injuries
Grant Hill - crippled by injuries
Tracy McGrady - crippled by injuries

I'm just waiting for Dwight Howard to tear his ACL ...

remember that Tmac is crippled by injuries during his time in Houston. it was a curse that they had to trade him, also u could probably add the fact that they just didnt keep chris webber, as he is still playing great, and penny fell apart a long time ago

His career didn't seem that long because he was always injured, and he just kept regressing while fans of his kept waiting for him to return back to his old self.

He was my favorite player for many years before I realized he'll never be the same player again.

The video brought back a lot of memories

Back then I thought the only way was up for this guy and now look where he is. Makes me think about whether current young stars (Wade etc) may suffer the same fate.

So long as he's willing to sacrifice dollars for a roster spot, I don't think his career need end a la Latrell Sprewell. I'd like to see him have a couple more productive years in the NBA, I was actually hoping he'd have another run in Orlando after the Francis deal simply for the nostalgia.

another player shattered by injuries. Grant Hill.....probably the best SF of the lates 90's behind only Pippen.

Just another sad reminder that bad things sometimes happen to good people. It is not an impossible thing that a similar fate is set for one of the young studs today. Amare has already been to a similar operation that Penny went through. Although Amare is very young and the injury was caught very early, but will he ever be that 37ppg guy against Spurs again??? Next season will be a good measuring point.

The microfracture surgery... A devastating thing to a basket ball player. I hope that no one has to go through that. We have witnessed too many great players fall to it already. Penny was one of the first...

I hope Amare can come back as explosive as he was etc. so that there is some hope for others that will come accross this particular injury.

Hill was probably better than Pippen... Especially late 90's... Pippen still had Jordan by his side and that's one hell of a side kick... Hill didn't have that much help in his Detroit days...

I'm not saying that Pippen wasn't good... He was probably one of the best perimeter defenders in his prime, but Hill had a way better offensive game.

he might like score 50 against LA on opening day with all the double teams they give nash for some reason when all he does is pass the ball

Last time I heard about Hardaway was that he was playing in the summer league games, but he was averaging like 8 turnovers a game.... I seriously think that he's commited to coming back, but his body can't do the things it used to do.

Ugh, not really. Pippen was more athletic, better shooter and better playmaker.

That was just in one game though, and he also had 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. But yea, the turnovers is killing him (n)

I remember reading during the playoffs that there was a few teams that were interested in him, including Memphis, LA Lakers, Miami and Houston.
I'd love to see him go with Memphis. If he does, then I know what team I'll be using for my Live 07 dynasty..
