I think you mean Ekene Ibekwe. He was outstanding. But Awojobi (the guy with the "tie") and Mouneke were pretty much for our team today. If Nwosu hadn't gotten into foul trouble so early, he would have had much more of an impact on the game. Those guys can rebound, damn! Btw, did you watch the game on DSF? If so, tell me what you think about Frank Buschmann (the commentator). I love this guy! He gets so emotional and you can really hear that he lives basketball...

"Okulajaaaaaaa, woooah! Adiiiiii, so wollen wir dich sehen!!!" So great...

Oh yes, Buschmann is really cool, rememberin special moments with him.

"Und Nowitzki haut den Dreier rein!!!!", "Deutschland is im FINAAAALEEEE !!"

Unfortunately we wont hear that in two days :(

Do we already know who will be the commentator on wednesday? I could do without Michael Körner or even (ugh!) Manfred Winter. They just don't have that certain Buschmann-esque charisma. And no talent whatsoever...

It sucks for me since they don't air it on TSN, The Score, or RSP, so I have to watch it on some stupid streaming thing with chinense (I HATE IT!!!!!!!) commentary.

I would not like to hear Winter doin the commentary.
Körner knows very much about the game and is an intelligent commentator in my opinion, BUT he has the temper of a sleeping pill.
I also do not like him because of the live 98 and 2000-2001 commentary, we had no english in these games.

Buschmann rulz and DSF would do very well hiring him for the next match, since he is really driving nuts when a player slams it home, no matter of which side ;) .

A few things I got from watching the Aussies vs. USA:
- Sam McKinnon probably could've played pretty competently in the NBA had he got the chance and had he not got injured.
- Brad Newley could be a handy sort of player once he declares himself for the draft. He seems to have the athleticism that is at least average in the NBA. He just needs to bulk up a bit because the Americans will snap him like a twig.
- Bogut really needs a haircut.

@Debiler

Since Michael Körner was commentator in today´s game Argentina-Turkey (Turkey got crushed), I think we have good chances to see (hear) Frank Buschmann tomorrow for our Germany match.

Damn, I forgot to program my VCR. First thing I'll do when I come home from work. Don't look for me around here tomorrow, guys. I'll avoid any possible spoilers and watch the game when I get home.
@hova-: definitely getting my hopes up for tomorrow, thx! :D

Germany 39-40 USA.

I think that Okulaja could play in the NBA.

Okulaja had a short engagement on the Sixer roster some years ago. He was way better at that time, but they did not want him. Now he is really bothered by injuries.
We got crushed at the end, but it was a good game.
Dirk did not really convince, but that is no problem. He had about 100 games this season and is tired, we just rely too much on him.

85-65 is ok, team USA will have a hard time playing vs Greece, since they had problems vs our defense and Greece defends way better.

Germany was doing really well (Except for Dirk, he wasn't playing very well at any point of the game, at least not for his standard), until after the halftime when USA put in a higher gear. It's been the same for several games it seems like though, that USA comes out a little so-and-so at first, yet they manage to run away for the win in the end. If they're gonna beat Spain or Argentina they're gonna have to do better than that I recon..

Well, that's probably true, it won't be easy. But what I meant was that they can't play like this and beat Spain or Argentina. They could however get away with it against Greece I think. Then again I haven't seen Greece play in this tournament, so I'm not sure..

Greece only beat us by 1 point, I won't be shocked if the USA take them out. If Argentina can maintain their defensive intensity for a full game I'm pretty sure they could beat the US by 10+.

I just watched the game. Man, the first half was so good... :( Then again, I didn't really
expect our team to do anything but put up a good fight. Which they did. But to stand a
chance against the U.S., you have to get the rebound from time to time. Now I really
hope team USA gets it this year. But Greece is tougher than many around here think.

@hova-: Buschi rocked the first half! 8-)

I honestly never followed Greece...their strength is their zone defense, is that right? USA did awful against the German zone... 10 for 40 on outside shooting. Might be another close win for the US, not a blowout.

Assuming the US wins, Spain would be an easier to matchup for the US than Argentina...the US does pretty well shutting down 1 superstar (ask Dirk & Yao), if they shut down Gasol that kills a lot of Spain's offense & rebounding.

If they go against Argentina...i honestly don't think Ginobili and Nocioni fear anyone on the US team. That's the matchup i'm hoping for.

Spain doesn't have only one star (Gasol), there are players like Garbajosa and (especially) Navarro, who are in a great level :?

yeah spain has a great potential there is also calderon, ı think spain will play the final, against who usa or greece it's gonna be hard to beat greece for usa they are doing what they should do at the right time they are good at setting zone defense, firstly gets the ball down to the basket they are a 'team' the chances are even in my opinion off course usa is usa but greece will show great strength ı'm sure (Y)

I still think the USA will play well and win against Greece. Good 3pt shooters were missing wide open shots, and they still won by a large margin. If they can shoot around 35% from 3, I expect them to win this game by 20 + points as well. They just had one bad shooting night against Germany... but the USA is dynamic in the fact that they can still play well (their defense was great too) even when their shots aren't going down.
