Ok guys...already 5 days from the beginning of the world championship are passed...so I have decided to create a new thread...who is the best young player that have you seen until now?
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:18 am
I think Wade and Melo have been the two standouts thus far.... but I cant vouch for anyone outside of the US... I've only seen coverage of their games.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:22 am
yeah...today wade and melo destroyed all the hopes that the italian players had...
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:25 am
Wade, Melo, Dwight, Bellineli (20 years old) from Italy, Yi from China (and maybe little biased - Darko

)
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:31 am
i think you should add Chen to the list of upcoming Chinese youngsters. He's more or less the only one who can get in the lane besides Yao and Yi.
Coach K was trying to recruit him like insane and he starred at the ABCD camp last summer or the summer before
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:37 am
Arroyo, he's dominating.... He's been there before, yes, but I'd still consider him somewhat young.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:38 am
i think besides the disappointment so far of NZ, Craig Bradshaw has been impressive
Thu Aug 24, 2006 6:42 am
Our TV station only covers games from group D so I would vote for Belineli....He is just: GREAT....At the age of 20. NBA potential no question about that.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:13 am
Look at my sig and you will know who is the best young player.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:26 am
Rudy Fernandez has one of the best 3pt %, and he has been impressive in the whole 4 games till today. Waiting for his reserve dunk!!

Belinelli was great too, but disappearing sometimes. Milicic is fantastic at defense, but poor offensive touch, quite mechanical, like a robot. Becirovic is nice, but he's not so young (well, he had been 2 years without playing due to injuries). Bradshaw is athletic, but needs to put more in both boards. Bogut looks like very mature, but the other mates dont follow him. And Yi, I cant believe he is 18, I'm following him for 2 or 3 years... NBA potential, but quite quite soft, should learn trash-talking (but trash-talking in chinese¿?...
Sure I'm forgetting anybody, Ill try to remember
Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:54 am
You are forgetting Mantas Kalnietis.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:55 am
i agree with Pirrimarzon, rudy fernandez has been fantastic, this guy could go lottery pick next year
Thu Aug 24, 2006 8:10 am
Ersan İlyasova you gotta watch this 19years old kid
Thu Aug 24, 2006 8:22 am
does he play for the bucks? or is that eliyahu or wateva the hell his name is
Thu Aug 24, 2006 8:58 am
yes bucks drafted him but he played in nbdl last season
Thu Aug 24, 2006 9:58 am
Yea, Ilyasova plays with bucks, but there are some suspicions that Ilyasova isnt turkish, and he forged his passport or birth card, so he's actually under the radar. Kalnietis has had very few minutes in the first 3 games, only the last one was long for him. Deserving more minutes in a NT without Jasikevicius...
Heyy, I forgot Mile Ilic and Uros Tripkovic, but they're playing very few minutes. Besides, Tripkovic is just behind a player who always think of himself (Igor Rakocevic) and dont create a good chemistry. Serbia isnt the same without Bodiroga and Divac...

More love for Belinelli; the guy is going to be top 15 in 2007's NBA Draft. It'd be awesome if the Raptors take him.

to be honest, im sorta sick of hearing about these super euro up and comers, basketball fans need to understand that the best in the world are still homegrown (and no, not MY home country...)
Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:29 am
Carmelo easily.
Carlos Delfino has also had a pretty decent campaingn too.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:53 am
Carmelo Anthony
Pablo Prigioni
Fadi El Khatib
Thu Aug 24, 2006 11:55 am
carmelo anthony. i was a big critic (yeah, i know, like i matter anyway

) and wanted him off the team. but he's played great, and you got to give credit where credit is due. had it not been for him, the US would've lost to italy today. he's going to be a force to be reckoned with this season.
Thu Aug 24, 2006 12:07 pm
Seems melo has something to prove to anyone..but he doesn't realise that he's doing this on the wrong platform. Show us this performance in the nba carmelo. Lebron has the right idea...lay low..avoid injury and show um who is "the king" during the nba season.

^^Not even one of the best 2 or 3 players on his team.
1. Ginobili
2. Nocioni
3. Heremann
4. Scola, Delfino?
5. Oberto
