Mourning Plans to Return Next Season
"Alonzo Mourning will return to the Heat next season the center announced Saturday night. 'It's because of the . . . commitment from the fans and this community, the energy that you all have just given us over the years to help us get to this championship moment -- filling the stands, providing the passion, the love -- all of that I factored in,' Mourning said. 'I factored in all of those things, and I have decided that I will play another year in Miami,' " writes Patrick Dorsey of the SUN-SENTINEL.

I think its great that he'll play another season in miami.im Glad that he will retire in miami.i said that because i think hes a great player but ill only give him one more year in the NBA.

Great for the Heat. He did a great job in the beggining of the year when he stepped in for Shaq.

I don't remember anywhere saying that he's planning on retiring at the start of the season. He says he'll be in Miami for another, and I think he's in a great position there.

He gets just enough playing time to be effective and be an intimidating force in the paint but he doesn't need to overexert himself and play more minutes than he has to, especially with that kidney issue.

I'd like to see zo get more minutes even if hes thrown in as pf hes still got game for his age and the health dramas he went through. I'm glad he's playing another season I have always liked Zo.

I hate Mourning, simply because of how he whined his way out of NJ and Toronto.

Call it bias, but he just sucks for making that move and it should be remembered as a black mark on his career.

Good look for zo. He has a good chance of having his number retired there now.
