Detroit gets a second Flip

Postby thaKEAF on Sat Jul 15, 2006 7:42 pm

The Detroit Pistons have come to terms with free agent scorer Ronald 'Flip' Murray, according to ESPN, with the Pistons landing the explosive scorer at a bargain price.

The Pistons originally offered the majority of their mid-level exception to Murray, but Murray hesitated to take it, hoping to get a more lucrative deal elsewhere. Murray instead accepted a two-year, $3.6 million deal, a league source told ESPN.com.

Once again Dumars adds a solid player at a cheap price (Y) Murray is finally that bench player that Pistons needed. Someone that can come in and score and make his own shots.

Looks like Detroits FA signings are finished now with both the MLE and BAE gone.

I liked him in Cleveland, he played pretty good while Hughes was injured IMO. Good pick up by Detriot.

Aw, he was good in Cleveland and Lebron needed him at times. =(

Hopefully the Cavs pick up someone to replace him.

Flip's been riding that nice little stretch he had with Seattle for some time now. if you disregard those stats he put up when Ray Allen was out, Murray is a mediocre player

He's still scoring double digits off the bench. something like 11 a game last year. I'm suprised the Pistons got him so cheap. And i heard the Pistons signed Ronald Dupree again. I guess just to add some perimeter defense on the wing since evans is gone.

Yeah he is....but still he can score and create his own shots, something the bench really lacked.

yeh something like 11 a game on poor fg%, seldom hits 3's, and doesn't go to the FT often and when he does he only shoots 70%

that's pretty poor... and scoring is supposed to be his best (and only) skill :lame:
