What's with all the Starbury hate? Saying he is not a point guard is ridiculous.
At least make educated points when hating on the guy.

Along with Oscar Robertson, Marbury is the only player in NBA history with career averages of 20 points (20.5) and 8.0 assists (8.2) and Robertson had 25.7 ppg, 9.5 apg.

Last season, he was in hell with Larry Brown. The guy does not pass? This is a misconception created by Larry Brown.

Before being coached by LB, Marbury dropped 8.1 dimes in the 04-05 season, in the 03-04 season he dropped 8.9 dimes per game.

His best season assist wise was at 98-99 with KG, he dropped 9.3 apg.

Why did he get a measly 6.4 apg? well, the Knicks being my favorite team in the east, i saw him being held back by LB. He was not able to penetrate to the hoop as much as he wanted to, therefore rendering him unable to create shots for his teammates.

There, get rid of your BS fellas, find another reason to hate on Stephon Marbury.

Yeah, because Isiah DIDN'T win 2 championships with one of the most defensive-minded, tough-nosed teams in the history of the NBA.

Well, you're not going to get guts, tough-minded rebounding & defense from these losers. Nice way to build a team, Isiah. I guess he forgot how his Pistons won their titles.

Brain-Dead Dolan & Train-Wreck Thomas - what a WONDERFUL duo we have in NYC.

Jerry, the Knicks only hope is if Dolan sells the team. Anyone who thinks this franchise is going anywhere with these dimwits in charge isn't paying attention.

They're only a good team in NBA Live since they have fairly good ratings and you don't have to worry about the attitude

you don't have to worry about the attitude

It's another story in the upcoming Live game though...

We don't agree on a lot of things, but OWNED.

Marbury is not a PG, he's a SG. He asked Larry Brown all season long over & over again to play the 2...Brown forced him to play Point against his will...with Brown gone guess how he's gonna play? It doesn't matter if he guards the other team's 1 or 2...the end result is that he's gonna take the ball, hog it, and shoot up jumpers again like the old Steph. That being said he's still the best player on the Knicks by far.

Nate Robinson is not a PG. He's a 5' 8" SG, nuff said. At best you've got Earl Boykins.

Stevie Francis: would have been great if the Knicks got him 6 years ago. He's already playing like an old man who just wants to shoot the ball and then go home.

Eddie Curry: can't outrebound Chris Paul. The next Shaq? Wishful thinking. I will say, the Knicks do have the next Kevin Duckworth.

 duckworth eats his pets

Sat Jul 15, 2006 10:34 am

knicks are not nice and the truth is paul pierce........... a$$

Sat Jul 15, 2006 11:17 am

a$$h013
this thread was to prove the knicks arent that bad..the players anyway.

He asked Larry Brown all season long over & over again to play the 2...Brown forced him to play Point against his will...

Huh? Never heard of this. Do you have a link? I've always followed the knicks and the lakers, this is the first time im hearing about this BS.

It doesn't matter if he guards the other team's 1 or 2...the end result is that he's gonna take the ball, hog it, and shoot up jumpers again like the old Steph. That being said he's still the best player on the Knicks by far.

Cut the crap. Judging by this post, you've barely seen Stephon play. The old Steph hogs the ball right? Then how in the blue hell can a ballhog manage to average 8 assists per game his entire career?

Nate Robinson is not a PG. He's a 5' 8" SG, nuff said. At best you've got Earl Boykins.

Good job contradicting yourself. Earl Boykins plays like a traditional PG.

Im 100% sure the knicks will make the playoffs this year under Zeke. Stephon and Francis on an uptempo offense? Yikes.

Sat Jul 15, 2006 12:26 pm

going to be a lot of street ball style for sure...
Marbury could average 9 or 10 assist.. allys to Francis and Nate, Frye and that money J, there is HOPE!!

...hope at getting swept in the first round.

I'm pretty sure what he meant was that Earl Boykins is probably the highest calibre of a player he can amount to, and currently he's just an undersized shooting guard who prefers style over substance.

Which is a traditional PG.

Sun Jul 16, 2006 12:46 am

Yes, but he's currently a run-wild shooting guard. He's got the potential to settle down and start being a play-maker (heck, a lot of people do), but there isn't much of a chance of that happening, especially when you have less play-maker oriented guards in Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford and Marbury on the team. Robinson needs to keep his mouth shut and his head screwed on straight, and judging by the looks of things he'll need someone to guide him in that direction.

Marbury is a good passer, but not a playmaker. He's been known to be a very offensive minded player that will try to dominate the ball even if he does collect a bunch of assists and I think thats why there is always the debate as to whether or not he's a "passing" point guard or not.

Sun Jul 16, 2006 5:33 am

.Dee. wrote:lol well said :D Marbury is a good PG as in crossovers and passing
I think he's about just short of Allen Iverson and Steve Nash...
And the Steve Fransic Vid wasnt with the Knicks much because he
had just got to the knick clubhouse like before the deadline.
The team has spirt and all for each other, but its like the Movie
Glory Road it was like the players were force to play a way
that didnt like to play, but i think Isiah will just tell them go
offensive, because he doesnt like defense much.

marbury is short of ai and nash?
last i heard he did call himself the best pg in the league
he is just a loser

Sun Jul 16, 2006 8:43 am

then name other Pgs that are better then him... And JKidd is nice.

jason kidd
steve nash
chauncey billups
gilbert arenas
allen iverson
chris paul
jason terry
sam cassell

Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:09 am

im not sure about the last 3...chris paul has potential but clearly doesnt have as much experience as marbury..jason terry...he is also ok but i wouldnt consider him that good. sam cassell...he is just an average player...

Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:17 am

Sam Cassell is the reasons the Clippers did so well. Jason Terry was scorching hot against the Heat. Jae was right, your parents are on drugs to let you continue living.

Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:18 am

well im still living i dont give a shit if you haters hate me i am still living

Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:32 am
