He can do so much for a team and he is good in the post as well. I mean, I think Memphis got the better end of the deal of course, but Houston got what they needed, a real solid player to compliment both Tmac and Yao. There's no need for Houston to get another potential star player when they already have 2 on their team. So I think Houston is good with or without Gay. Memphis on the other hand really needed a player of Gay's caliber. There's no telling who really won the deal though because either player can come up big for either team this year because Gay has good player surrounding him already. Battier is almost 30 years old, and he may be consistent every night for around 11-12ppg, 6-7rpg, 1.5spg and 1.5bpg, but I expect Gay to average around 17ppg, 5-6rpg, 1bpg if he starts and get starter minutes around 30+.

Let's be realistic here. I don't think Rudy Gay is going to average what you just posted. Start around 11 ppg, 5 rpg and .5 blocks. If he could do that entering the league, he wouldn't have dropped to seven.

Oh, he can if he wants to and he gets starter minutes like I said. Maybe I went a little OD on the ppg, maybe around 14-15 at the most. Gay quoted in the paper that his goals this year is to win ROY and lead the team to the playoffs, so if he wants to become ROY he is going to have to put up numbers like that.

Every rookies' goal is to win ROY and lead his team to the playoffs. What the hell makes Gay so special in that aspcet? What makes him more-equipped to do that than the other top picks in the draft?

Because of his talent level of course. He is suppose to be the best talent in the draft, if not best, top 3 best. That's why it makes him so special in that aspect.

Today is when they offically can announce the deal. I've heard that the Rockets were trying to "finalize the deal", which hopefully means there's going to be something else on the Grizzlies side.

need to add a first to make it halfway even....

Well they didn't  I'm glad all this is over with now.

Since there are half/half think this trade is good/bad

i think the real answer would be GAY's performance from now on...

if he turns out to be another Miles, Houston fans should thank god or CD or JVG for made this trade...

but if GAY turns out to be another kobe(maybe in few years), and T-Mac injured for another few years than become another Hill...

What will happen to swift? I heard he doesn't want to play in memphis. Trade him back to rockets for juwana. :D

As of now, it seemsl ike West isn't worry about if he wants to play with us or not because he is talking like he will play with the Grizzlies. But, if he don't, I'm pretty sure they can get something good for him.

I don't think they're gonna get much for Swift if he's not motivated to be in Memphis, cause the past seasons players like that were traded for scrubs.

What I'm saying is they can just package him in a deal with another player. There should be some teams out there that will be willing to grab him if they make the deal sweet enough for them. West said something about he was looking for another guard spot to fill and I don't know if he meant PG or SG, but he said that on the radio awhile back after draft night.
