Pistons choke, the Kings Entourage comes through in the crunch.

Image

Image
Boxscores:[Pistons]|[Cavs]

Without the King the Cavs looked doomed to elimination but thanks to a poor
Pistons performance in the crunch, and some great composure and play from the other Cavs players
Cleveland fans will get to see their team in at least one more playoff game.
Chanuncy Billups played like an MVP but the rest of his team seemed to dissapear when it mattered.

The Pistons led for most of the game, and looked to be comfortably in control
however they got too comfortable, and from the start of the 4th the Cavs played great defense
limiting Detroit's shot attempts, its wasnt long before the lead exchanged hands and the Cavs were on control.
Even with the lead stolen the Pistons didnt snap out of their lull, appart from one,
number 1 to be exact, down by 10 with 3 minutes left, Chauncy Billups went on a scoring rampage
scoring the next 10 points in the game, Billups brought the Pistons level with the Cavs with 30 seconds left.
On the next possesion Larry Hughes hit a contested jumper with 15 seconds left in the game.

With 10 seconds left the Pistons got the ball into the hands of Mr Big Shot Billups,
and creating space at around 18 feet he looked to surely tie the game,
this is were Eric Snow stepped up, blocking Billups shot attempt and retrieving the ball.
The Pistons immediately fouled and the Cavs hit 1-2, but on the next possession the Pistons couldnt even inbound the ball.
With 4 seconds left the Cavs ran out the clock.

The series will head back to Detroit for the deciding match,
the Pistons will have to review their performance tonight and hope for a great improvement

ImageImage
Billups was the man during the fourth quarter, however he couldnt quite do enough to get his team to advance to the next round.
ImageImage
Hughes had a great gmae trying to fill Lebrons shoes || Snows big defensive play late in the 4th.
ImageImage
Rasheed had to sit down for a time with and Injury however he was able to return and was fine after the game || The Pistons will be kicking themselves for not closing out the series in this game.

Next up: Round 2 Game 3 @ Detroit

billups was awesome the rest of the team not so awesome you better have them fired up for game 3

Wed Jun 14, 2006 10:55 pm

wow Cavs were able to win even without LeBron. Nice.
Billups had really great game, like true MVP. But last attack by him was blocked by Snow, blah.
I'm pretty sure you will win next and advance to conference final. Good luck stopping these Cavs, as well as with your exams.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:11 am

Great presentation. Can you please PM me or just tell me what you did to make it so good? Or a template or something.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 2:35 am

took me a sec, was wondering why u said king when u were playing the clippers. then was like.. right

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:02 am

Dang, look at Billups's hops! :o

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:45 am

First time I saw Billups dunking...

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:53 am

Wow dallas got killed, nice recap and yeah you better watch out for the Cavs lol
tough lost. Nice recap and dope screens! (Y) good luck next game.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:56 am

Wow, Billups must have found Michael Jordan's shoes hanging from a power line or something.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:58 am

Wow, the levek of presentation in the dynasty is unsurpassed. Alot of people love what coccobee does, but the game reports are great and the screens are awesome. If this was a full 82 game season dynasty id say it would be on par with andrews bulls dynasty, but ill still be reading. Any adjustments for game 3?

Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:02 pm

Wow nice dunk by Chauncey. Tough loss man, good luck in Game 3!

Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:07 pm

Yeh go LeBron-less Cavs.....sorry, someones gotta go for the opposition  .
Bad luck in game 3 (Y)

Yeah that block was really gutting, I knew I had played real poo in the 4th but I thought I deserved to get OT with Billups playing so well

Cheers dude, umm I just use Photoshop to pretty everything up a bit, sometimes when I shold be paying attention in Lectures I come up with a new idea or something. Make sure oyu make it neat and tidy, its quite hard to read a dynasty thats all over the place

King = Clippers?? I dont get it......

Thanks dude, thats a big compliament. Yeah I would do 82 games, but im pretty keen on getting through at least 2 seasons before I get 07.

Im probably just gonna go back to my bread an butter for game 3, run my set plays for Rip and Sheed and just keep my head on D, I should be sweet as.

Pistons make up for last game, Roll on in style.

Image

Image
Boxscores:[Cavs]|[Pistons]

It appears the Cavs game 2 win was double edged.....
Yes of course it did keep their playoff hopes alive, but it inspired the Pistons to win the series and win it in style.

The Pistons came out firing, and were determined to make up for their poor game 2.
Making the first 5 shots of the game the Pistons never led by less than 10 points.
Come the 4th, many would have thought the game would have got closer,
however the Pistons thought otherwise, and turned a 10 point lead into a 17 point hyding.

Rasheed Wallace played limited minutes, and was content to let 6th man Antonio McDyess tear up the Cavs interior D.
No one appeared to want to step up for the Cavs, Big Z had a decent amount of points,
although he hardly took over the game.

The Pistons now roll onto the Conference Finals to face the winner of the Nets/Pacers series which will be announced shortly.

The Western Title will be fought for between the Spurs and Suns, both who swept their respective opponents.

ImageImage
The Detroit bench has played their respective roles perfectly these playoffs.
ImageImage
Hughes didnt really fire this game, many have criticised his performance saying he should have lifted the team in this game || Big Ben was once again a defensive beast.
ImageImage
The Cavs get to watch the rest of the playoffs from the sidelines, while the Pistons roll on to their 3rd conference Finals in a row.
