J.J. Redick, a likely first-round pick in this month's NBA draft, was arrested early Tuesday on charges of drunken driving.

Redick's Draft Status
The NBA draft is scheduled June 28 in New York City. How the arrest will affect Redick's draft status is unclear.
"I think that these things hurt anybody's draft status," an Eastern Conference GM, who wanted to remain anonymous, told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. "They do in my eyes. I take these things seriously. That's too bad."

Redick had previously pulled out of scheduled workouts with Orlando and Boston this week. Previously, he had worked out for Golden State, Utah, Houston and Seattle.

Among the teams reportedly interested in Redick is Houston, which has the No. 8 pick.

Its not a big deal, but I figured that if he's going to act reckless then it might lead to questioning of his character as well as his glaring weaknesses.

I think that the Portland Trailblazers might consider picking him up now.

Anyways, I was surprised that JJ did this even though I hate him. He said he never drinks ever and I thought he had more common sense than drinking while driving. We will see if his stock goes down as teams will probably look at this incedent. Still, this is the first thing that Redick has really ever done wrong and teams will take account that this is his first time getting in trouble with the law. I bet Coach K will have a long talk with him about this.

Start his career? He's not even drafted yet.

I think, if anything, this is actually a good thing for Redick. A lesson might/should be learned from this and it may keep him from getting into trouble when he actually starts his NBA career.

before the drunk driving & bad back, he was a lock in the lottery....depending on how teams take this, he could fall to the late teens....

I said he was a lock in the lottery before the incidents....there are 14 picks in the lottery, hence I meant he'd go in the first 14 picks (which includes the 11th pick)....now this could bump him out of that top 14....I think it's more the back that could drop him out of the 14 rather than the drunk driving....

Who knows, Cleveland might have a chance of picking him up, how good would that be!!
