Should Pistons part ways with R.Wallace?

IF you weren't watching game 3 against the heat...there was an obvious feud with rasheed wallace and coach flip saunders during the game. The pistons called a time out and rasheed was not in the huddle.. he was sitting between the 2 benches. After something like that i don't think he should be sent away unless it's for Garnett. personally living in detroit i'm a real big fan of sheed, but if we're gettin garnett in return then im all for it.

Get rid of him and his mouth. Better if they keep Big Ben, Sheed has choked quite a lot in these playoffs and I can't see the team chemistry being stable next season with his crazy attitude and also relations with Flip Saunders. If they can get KG without losing Big Ben to Free Agency that would be the best choice for Detroit.

Unless I'm just reading this wrong, you contradicted yourself.

Obviously the wont get Garnett for sheed, but Garnett would be a much better fit than sheed since he isnt so "vocal" all the time....

nah. he's the best player on the team. They should dump Lindsey Hunter. He sucks. they should get get rid of Carlos Arroyo too. oh wait...

Rasheed isn't that motivated to play anymore coz he already won a ring.

Pistons need wallace...what they need to do is get rid of flip saunders. They need a coach that can bring back the chemistry and learn to trust his bench more. Flip fucked up minnesota for years..and now he's doing the same to detroit. I'm not complaining...but i think the guy needs to retire.

Chemistry is a delicate thing... Who knew getting rid of Milicic would cause so much turmoil and destroy the entire chemistry of the team!

On a more serious note... Sheed is intense... The way he picks up Technicals is a sure give in. Sheed is also hurt. And thus he can't be the player that he knows he is and is probably very frustrated with it. And the fact that it's the most important games of the season... I as a human being and one who's been hurt and tried to play hurt can say that its very frustrating when you just can't do the things you can normally do...

He is venting his frustration in a very public way... As he has pretty much always done. The core 5 and the coach chemistry is going to be fine if both Sheed and Flip can let by-gones be by-gones when all is said and done. And if they get up from this and win the title, well nothing will be wrong then

Detroit isn't out of this yet... Although Shaq and Wade seem to get their way at will they still need the rest of the guys to win the game... So it's not all said and done.

Also as a whole the team might be protesting the "offense first" thing as the total opposite attitude of "defense above anything else" has brought them very much success in the past couple of years... But it's a brave new world out there.

I don't know about trading or getting rid of anyone is the answer... It's not like Larry Brown got the Knicks to the Eastern finals in his first year on the job... As always, people will fall and learn and improve and next year, this Detroit squad will be so much closer to what Saunders is coaching for them... It's change resistance which is normal human behaviour.

And Sheed won't bring them Garnett... For Jermaine... I don't know. Indiana just might go for it since Jermaine has been plagued by injuries and hasn't played much in the last 2-3 seasons... But then there's the Artest factor...

I think it's hard for a coach at any level to come into an established championship calibre team & get complete respect unless you're a Pat Riley or Phil Jackson & have been there & done that....maybe if the team fully bought into Flip's philosphies, they wouldn't be behind....

I'm enjoying the post-season though as superstars are once again leading the way after a couple of years of team-first winning it....you've got Wade & Shaq doing theirs & getting support, you've got Dirk playing like he's playing for the German National Team & crashing boards & doing what it takes but with support....you've got Steve Nash & his gunners down in Phoenix....looking at the teams left that are playing well it seems to be the teams with 1-2 superstars plus a few up-and-coming/improving players & some role players to boot that are coming out on top which is great to see

They're better off keeping him and telling him to shut up. If he does this whole trash-talking routine again in the regular season, I think Detroit would even be well off suspending him for a few games.

I never just considered Sheed a big factor for mainly the entire season. I thought he was a little overrated especially with him going to the all-star game. He hasn't been consistent from game-to-game basis in the playoffs. Any has anybody ever noticed when the crowd starts saying Sheeeeeeeeeeeeed and he has the ball, he usually misses the shot? Its like he is enjoying the fact that his name is being called and he just gets too excited and ends up missing the shot.

yea that injury is really limiting his game, i think its gonna cost detroit the series as well
ben wallace is a free agent this summer, ever since like late march he has been having problems with the coach
if they lose this series and sanders stays with the pistons, ben wallace may chose to leave and sign with a new team.

Everybody was all happy and giddy when Detroit rolled to the best regular season record by going to a West Coast, jump-shot happy system. And now that they're in the playoffs and opposing players contest every shot, they're pointing fingers. I'm not surprised in the least.

Flip is totally justified. They need to reprint some of the quotes from the players and media at the All-Star break gushing over Flip's system.

Rasheed can't complain about how they play on May 30th. He should have spoke up in February, and told everybody they need to stop winning regular season games and start with a system that works in the playoffs. Obviously, he never said anything remotely resembling that.

Well he's one of the best defending PF's in the league, he's one of the reasons why Detroit are the best defending NBA team for so long. I think if they trade him, they should get smth. like K. Garnet, K. Bosh (even if that's unreal, just an example), maybe even T. Duncan (even if that's not likely too). Garnett looks like the best scenario, imagine such a team...Garnett and Big Ben upfront. Plus, Rashweed never was a good passer, whitch is Garnetttttt. So I think they will surely at least go for it this summer.

^Those trades only happen if Isiah Thomas wins the GM for a day contests at their respective teams' end of the year party.

Sheed for Garnett??? Please... That will never happen unless they fork up Rip or Billups or Prince or Big Ben with him... That might get the deal done, but one for one... Garnett is a lot better than Sheed is...

Sheed for Bosh??? Colangelo is at the helm... Toronto has finally gotten a good young core of players and have gotten rid of some of the bad influence like Jalen Rose etc. Why the hell would they trade a 20-and-something guy for a 30-and-something guy??? That makes no sense. As Toronto is certainly not a contender and won't be after this deal...

To be honest... I think Detroit core will stay the same and coach will be back for the next season and they will work on it... I don't see many things happening in Detroit... If this climax after losing to Miami in play-offs its another thing, but I don't see that happening. It's not like they would have gotten further last year, had Shaq and Wade been healthy...

Isiah might take Rasheed if he is moved... It's not like he didn't work well with Larry Brown... I think New York will have a busy summer this time around... Don't know about trading away those big contracts, but they will raise some intrest with the rookies they have had this season... I wouldn't be surprised if Frye was an ex-Knick after the summer... Traded away with some expiring contract for a good player... The Knicks are a mess and I really hope they try to fix it... And get some more players that are willing to adopt to LB's system... And maybe then get some of the more reluctant stars to fall in line too.
