Breakout Player of 06/07

Mon May 29, 2006 5:52 am

This year we seen guys like Boris Diaw and Mike James have pretty good years. Next Year who do you feel will have a breakout season? I'm going for Delonte West and Andrew Bogut for pretty big seasons. I also think Odom could have close to Garnett-type season like 20-10-5. Thats if they play like they did in the playoffs. I think that Dwight Howard will be amazing next year. I think he might go on to average like 16 rebounds when he's older.

if jr smith gets traded i see him havin a HUGE yr if its a team that he could really contribute to like the raptors

Mon May 29, 2006 6:00 am

Okafor can start avging 18-10 if he's healthy!

I think Devin Harris is going to have a really productive year, but he wouldn't really be breaking out since he's already having a fantastic playoff run.

I'm also predicting some big things from Jameer Nelson although I don't think he'll statiscally "break out", but he'll definitely have a bigger rolesince last year he was injured and Steve Francis was there for half a year.

Gerald Green also showed a lot of flashes of being a very good player if he's getting playing time.

Darko, D.Howard and Granger (Y)

I don't see him having too big of an impact. Smith is still pretty raw and inconsistent in some areas and he doesn't seem like he has the work ethic to become a better player.

Im sayin Chris Wilcox

Mon May 29, 2006 6:57 am

^ Damn you beat me to it. I watched alot of sonics games this year and he jsut needed some new scenery. I hope they hang out to him.

Mon May 29, 2006 8:13 am

Dwight Howard. 3rd year is usually the break-out year and who is better equipped to break out than Dwight?

Mon May 29, 2006 8:33 am

Chris Wilcox was insane after he got used to seattle, i'm expecting him to have something along the lines of a 18ppg 12 rpg to 16ppg 10rpg sort of year, he runs the floor so well and he jumps out of the gym, he's like stromile swift except he hustles his but off.

Mon May 29, 2006 8:55 am

Darko (Y) He'll get more playing time and he'll show some skills for basketball.

Mon May 29, 2006 9:01 am

Yeah, if Darko can get into shape over the summer, he might have a chance to show people why joe d drafted him number 2. He just needs to be able to play more than 20 minutes a game.

Mon May 29, 2006 11:39 am

Very true, i'd say if we're saying biggest change statistictly, it could definitly be Darko, but as far as the biggest change in their status in the league, i'd say Wilcox still...

Mon May 29, 2006 11:44 am

Darko and Danny Granger will both have breakout seasons imo.

Mon May 29, 2006 11:53 am

Andrei Kirilenko. I hear he's working on his jumpshot all this summer and he's not going to play for the Russia National Team which gives him plenty of time to improve his offensive game and put on a few pounds.

I think Shaun Livingston and Rashard Lewis are going to have career breakout seasons next year as well.

Mon May 29, 2006 12:38 pm

Gerald Green. Book it.

Mon May 29, 2006 2:11 pm

Most of the time the person that has the breakout year is someone none of us really expect. But, I'm going to go with Channing Frye. I can see him getting 17, 10 and 2

Mon May 29, 2006 2:57 pm

As someone said before: If Darko gets in shape he's my number 1 pick too.
I'm looking forward to see D. Howard putting up 20/10 consistantly.
Wilcox and Radmanovic may improve too, as well as Udonis Haslem.

Mon May 29, 2006 4:10 pm

Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Anderson Varejao, Sebastien Telfair and Travis Outlaw.

Realstically: Darko, Dwight and Devin Harris.

Mon May 29, 2006 4:25 pm

im hoping that Nenad Krstic has a great season

Mon May 29, 2006 4:32 pm

Josh Smith. At the end of the year he shot more three pointers, and made them as well. He played really good at the end of this year and I can see him averaeing about 17-9-2 blocks per game next year.

Mon May 29, 2006 4:52 pm

Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh and Emeka Okafor
