Matt Bonner slipped my mind.

Allen Iverson doesnt suit Allen Iverson, Iverson sounds very russian and AI's far from russian looking.

Brian Cardinal sounds odd too.

Luther Head, Head's just weird to have as a last name.

Nene, I can understand Pele, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho using one name but Nene.

Pape Sow is pretty funny too.

Edit : Nene was included cause I didnt see Yohance's post while I was typing this post.

I think Nene uses Nene because Hilario (his full name is Mabyner Hilario or something like that) means something else in his language, I remember Tales mentioning that.

Just found Craig funny because I never ever noticed that before. He's always called Speedy and I never saw any webpage, not event he official one, where he's referred as Craig.

I'll be the first to nominate Leandro "Beep Beep" Barbosa for worst nickname.

Mike James, Donyell Marshall, Ray Allen, Michael Bradley, Keyon Martin, Troy Murphy

I always thought DerMarr Johnson was a funked up name.

Ha Seung-Jin! I don't know what's funnier - his name or his face.

Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo.
"Irk" Nowitzki. The idea to that is very cool (no D), but it sounds just dumb.
"The worm" also comes to mind.

@Stevesanity: Iverson sounds Scandinavian, not Russian.

Do you mind sharing asshole?

I love Bimbo Coles, I was thinking of a name to give a created player back in NBA Courtside 2002 and I didnt want to use my own name so I came up with Bimbo Pornshag :?

Any nickname like CP3 CB4, LBJ23 etc are pretty gay.

True now that I think about it, I remember a soccer player named Iversen that played for Tottenham cant remember whether he was from Norway, Sweden or some other place.

Im pretty suprised that people find the Craig-Speedy thing funny/weird, Its been a really long time since people called Penny by his real name Anfernee.

I find "The Truth" to be a lame nickname. It just sounds too desperate for my liking. Like having a nickname for the sake of having a nickname.

well, Leandro's "Beep Beep" is retarded because Doug Collins made it up.

I remember Speedy Claxton went by Craig Claxton when he got drafted in '99.

Chris Webber is really Mayce Christopher Edward III.

I have no problem with Euro names... they're fun to say.

Jason Richardson and Richard Jefferson are pretty generic and ends up confusing if you say their names twenty times really fast.

You have to laugh when you hear a name like Zaza Pachuila, Jahidi White, Fisher (I mean, c'mon), Rose, Stacey Augmon, Potapenko... And you people, when writing "funny" names, write them correctly. Some of you wrote something that can't even be pronaunced. in any language.

Joe Smith or John Thomas are just so overly generic they make me crack a smile.

I also can't picture someone's name being Royal Ivey.

lol i always that it was "Dee-VO". guess you really learn something new every day

Dickey Simpkins is my nomination. my friends would call him "Sickey Dimpkins" because he was so terrible

i didn't like Brian Grant's former nickname- "the General". that was pretty weak.

B-Diddy is pretty unoriginal and uninspiring
Jump.
