calm down guys, 82games also has stats when player x plays y position and how much points he gives up. Unfortunately, 82games.com does not have stats for Jason Kidd defending as a sg or any other position other than pg.
It may not be that accurate but it is a dependable measure of how a player plays on defense. Just look at how many points Lebron gives up when playing sg compared to when he defends as a sf.
I suggest you look around at the site, you'll see my point.
The 40 point remark was used to support my argument and the stats from 82games.
Anyway, here's Trenton Hassell's defensive stats per48:
At sg he gives up 13.6 points with 48%efg
At sf he gives up 13.5 with a 44% efg.
There, trenton's stats make sense because we all agree he was very solid on defense this season.
Jason Kidd's doesnt make sense because your basing your arguments on opinion while i have stats that may not be as 100% accurate but actually makes sense and gives concrete evidence on the subject matter.

People usually oppose stats when it goes against their argument.
Opinion or concrete evidence? You guys be the judge.

stat wise Bruce Bowen is shit.

Bowen's offensive and overall stats are crap, but his defensive stats are pretty good. Per 48 minutes, he allows opposing SFs (which 82games.com says he spent the vast majority of his minutes) to score 15.6 points on 0.439 eFG%. He only gave up a PER of 11.8, which is very low.

Thing is, those stats tell you only the numbers of players at his position, although he also guarded SFs and even some PFs (namely Dirk) and PGs.

About those of you who are using statistics to make a point - good
defenders don't have to get blocks or rack up a lot of steals.
If the player forces his opponents to take bad shots or
distracts them that's just as good as getting a block
or a steal, it just doesn't show on the statsheet.

efg% is taken into account
so what's your reference? you chart every time a defender forces his guy to take a bad shot?

How exactly is Bruce Bowen shit statistically?
He only gives up 15.6 points per 48 on 43%EFG
