If you look history and the voters' tendencies, Dirk should win it. Kobe isn't playing on a high-quality team, the same could be said for Lebron and you can throw as many stats at me as you want, but you won't persuade me that Dwyane Wade is really up there with the top 3 candidates. Nash? He's playing for a system, tailor-made for him with a bunch of quality players to pass the ball to. If Stockton didn't deserve it, if Kidd didn't deserve it, neither should Nash. Chauncey Billups is great, one of my favourite players, but no. He simply isn't a 'franchise' player, a player his team is based one - he is one of FIVE players Detroit is based on. So you're left with Brand and Dirk and latter is better both individually and he played on the best team, so he's my choice. He improved so much, especially on defense and he's trully a special player - unselfish, competive and ultra talented. He represents everything this game is about and his intagibles and individual excellence this season are the reasons why he's the one who deserved this award.

WOW I voted Kobe simply because, like vank said nash only passes to quality players..and the rest oh well who cares Kobe deserves it because without him lakers wouldnt have made the playoffs. and because he wanted mvp in the playoff series he started passing. Which is why his playoff average dropped to 30s to around 22. And you know what, it didnt pay off because the rest of his team SUCKS. They cant do nothing. Even if Kobe gave them super passes they still wont be able to finish off. So if kobe didnt pass so much in the playoffs wow no1 can touch Kobe.
So that is why kobe is my mvp. But damn why did steve nash have to win

this topic can't be answered till deeper in the playoffs......it's in the playoffs where real MVP's start playing and as we go along some people eliminate themselves.

I'd say in the playoffs Elton Brand and Lebron James are tearing it up right now.

Props to Kobe Bryant for early on in the Lakers-Suns series. (Y)

Boris Diaw: 4.8 PPG - 13.6 PPG
Raja Bell: 12.3 PPG - 14.7 PPG
Tim Thomas: Not even worthy of a spot on the Bulls roster - 11 PPG.

Best player (stat wise) and Starting Center: Injured for the season.

Two best wingmen on last years team: gone.

What does Nash do? He leads his team to the third best record in the West, makes Tim Thomas a bunch of money this offseason, plays a MAJOR part in getting Boris Diaw the MIP, consistently gets a whole lot of guys wide open three pointers, and makes the big shots.

I'm sick of the Steve Nash hating.

I've always been a Steve Nash fan, and I've always hated Shaq. I thought Shaq deserved to win it last year. I still like Steve now, but this year, I thought Dirk overall, was better.

Props to Nash for leading his team to winning an impressive 54 wins without Amare, or all the guys they lost. Still, he had Marion and co. with him, and though he is great, he is a bit weak on defense whereas Dirk was the best player overall, and led the Mavs to win 60.

Someone should stop these MVP threads from starting, I think I've seen about 20-30 different ones already asking basically the same question over and over again and the same arguement happening again and again.

An announcement? :?

I think Kobe deserves it this year, 'cause he pulled his team to the playoffs with a very limited roster. Averaged almost 36 points per game and we don't have to forget his 81 points game. Just awesome season for him ! (Y)

We've already had a few discussions on this and this particular one doesn't seem to be adding anything new, so if you've got anything new to add please bump up the existing thread. Closed.
