for what are this long "socks" ? why do they wear it?

Those are compression shorts/socks of some form. Their purpose is to keep the muscles warm so as to prevent strains or pulls to the muscles.

First of all, he is banning them for fashion use. They can still be used medically, as they do help with muscle strains. He said that when he first had to wear it, shooting was difficult and intense focus was necessary with every shot. IMO he continues to wear it because he thinks he shoots better with it on.
