that sucks. i dunno why they did that, the kings had a great second half of the season, and ron artest wanted him and bonzi wells back for next year. i think this is a bad move for the kings.

It was about time. He should've been fired after they lost against T-Wolves in playoffs two years ago.

What do you mean about time? The guy has consistently led the Kings to many post-season appearances and was part of the turnaround that the Kings experienced during the early 2000's.

The guy has done a good coaching job over the years so I dont understand why anyone would say "about time".

I personally wasnt expecting this. With the way they played since the Artest deal I would have thought he had his space set for at least the next season as he would be able to see their potential during the 82 game push. Oh well, sad to see him go. I wonder who will pick him up?

I hope Atlanta does, its about time they turn around their franchise - they do have good players(like Smith, JJ, Harrington if he stays), good coach would help them!

I hope Memphis gives him a look because I would say that they are looking for a new coach right about now as well.

I dont think they'll be able to sign any coach who will be as good as adlemen, I think they wanted a Change but Sacramento looked like they had so much promise for the future in the playoffs....

with artest, there was reason adelman was fired. adelman is not known for being a defensive coach. divac webber, bibby, christie, and stojakovic are all gone and a near era of kings basketball has come

The Kings made a huge mistake in firing Adleman, unless they are absolutley positive that Eddie Jordan is going to become available. This is a guy that Ron Artest stood up for, and there aren't a whole lot of coaches in this league that Ron will stand up for. The Maloofs are not going to make Ron happy with this move, and we all know what happens when Ron isn't happy. I see the Kings exploding next season, and Ron being out of the league soon. He'll be the next Spree.

I'd love to have Adleman in Indy.

I've heard of lots of Kings fans who don't like Adelman. Good luck to them finding a new coach.

The Kings have been gauging their success based on the playoffs for the past 5 or 6 seasons and Adelman couldn't make it happen even with Bibby-Christie-Peja-Webber-Divac...he rarely has any overachieving players and the last few seasons have been mirror images of each other. I thought this would have come a long while ago.

I'm hoping Larry Harris throws everything at Adelman in order to get him! Get stotts out of town and get a guy that can utilise the big man in the post. He would be perfect for TJ's and Boguts development and get this team deepr into the play-offs.

From what I have heard they seem to be very interested in Don Nelson. I dont see much difference between the two since both their strong points are on the offensive side of the ball.

The writing was on the wall. The team is being remodeled and the Maloofs have been dodging the question whenever's it come up which is usually a polite way of saying he'll more than likely be gone once his contract is up.

Perhaps it is time to move in a new direction but I don't think Adelman did a bad job at all. Eight straight playoff appearances is hardly shabby especially given the way the face of the team has changed in the last couple of seasons. Perhaps the Kings blew a couple of chances in the Playoffs but it's not as though they were swept by 8th seeded teams with sub .500 records. You can only make excuses for so long but to spend three or four years as a legitimate contender with a few other Playoff appearances for good measure is still a fairly successful run.

And that's where the story ends. Wit a team like that, they could've bee champs just like that. When I just remember how many nights I haven't been sleeping while watching the Kings, man, I was more nervous then him when they lost that game against Wolves :x .
was part of the turnaround that the Kings experienced during the early 2000's.

Kings should of kept him unless they have been secretly grooming Latrell Sprewell to be a coach since he said his NBA days are over. Now him and Artest that would be interesting.
