The Cavs are good, but they had trouble with Arenas last round and he is a scoring guard. Chauncey can put up 30pts and dish out 8-10asts, getting the rest of the team involved. Rip will own Hughes off the ball. Tayshaun versus LeBron is gonna be great, i think Bron is gonna get his points but hes gonna get them kobe-esqu with 25 shots and like 8 makes. His assists are gonna be down because he cant create for his team mates when he gets in the paint because for other teams they need 3 guys to stop him....we have ben and/or sheed so thats one less opening he's gonna have. Ilgauskas is gonna get raped on the boards and if we get out on 3pt shooters this should be real easy to win.
Yeah but all season the Wizards had no strategy besides "Pass to Arenas, score". The Detroit team wins by sharing the ball, so I don't think Chauncey's point/assist totals are going to be so spectacular

here's a different look: Washington swept Detroit during the season... Cavs win against Was but all close games, so you can say they're evenly matched. Therefore Cavs have a chance to sweep Detroit
nah that won't happen, but Z and Hughes need to step up.

Arenas was a pain in the ass for Detroit.....he can get to the paint at will and scores 3 pointers from the car park.....Cleveland fortunately don't have anyone like that.

Really? so how do you explain lebron averaging more points per game and a better shot percentage than him during the season and the play-offs? Magic?
Mon May 08, 2006 12:59 am
I think that what he means is that Prince and Hamilton can guard perimeter players a lot more effectively when they're their size, but Arenas is more of a perimeter threat and has plenty of quickness and size also for a point guard.
Mon May 08, 2006 1:07 am
Yea...but lebron isn't a perimeter player. He shoots a fair amount of 3's..but obviously he isnt as good from the arc as arenas. With that said, he's a better, more efficient overall scorer; being the leader in the league in "and1's". Check the stats are re-watch the series with the wizards.
Mon May 08, 2006 2:33 am
What I meant was that LeBron was a "perimeter player" as in SF/SG. Boy, I really need some sleep.
I also forgot to add that Ben and Rasheed are roaming the paint, so even though LeBron is an effective slasher, he'll have more difficulty scoring in the paint.
Mon May 08, 2006 3:36 am
I made a $500 bet with my roomate that the cavs would take this series 4-2.
Yeah, that's right, 4-2. I hate being on the same side as everyone...except I don't think $500 was very smart.
Mon May 08, 2006 4:22 am
but obviously he isnt as good from the arc as arenas
that was my point......he can get into the paint at will be he aint no Arenas when it comes to the 3 ball.

Off-topic: they should make a new dress code just for damon jones:

Why is he so happy when he's just going to brick his next 50 jumpers?
Mon May 08, 2006 6:56 am
After the first half of game 1, it looks like Detroit can beat Cleveland no matter how much LeBron scores...Cavs need to get their bigs more involved or they will be swept
Mon May 08, 2006 7:48 am
*yawn* This series don't deserves to be on ABC.....or on TV.
Mon May 08, 2006 7:53 am
Detroit wins the series 4-2. In the two wins, LeBron will hit a game-winner and another one of the games will be a blowout for Cleveland.
Mon May 08, 2006 7:57 am
LeBron has done his job by reaching the second round already. I reckon he and the cavs should just roll over and die now.
Mon May 08, 2006 11:58 am
looks like they just might do that......113-86....welcome to the big boys league. Man if Darko was still in Detroit he'd already have 5 playoff games under his belt this year
Mon May 08, 2006 12:08 pm
I hate watching Detroit and San Antonio play... its so boring. I really hope the Cavs can win this, I really do, and I hope the Suns and the Mavs win and one of those teams go into the finals so we won't have to see another defensive team VS. defensive team.
Mon May 08, 2006 12:29 pm
maybe those team will start playing "boring" basketball and they just might win.
Prince's block on James was awesome......as was en Wallace's blocks on Hughes.

Dallas is one of the best defensive teams in the league this year...
And I can't believe people still say the Pistons are so boring. Even as a lifelong fan, I knew that the last couple seasons under Larry Brown lead to a not-so-exciting offense, but with Flip now, the Pistons are a VERY exciting team to watch. When Lindsey Hunter hit those three 3-pointers in a row, I couldn't believe it... that was probably the most thrilling part of the game for me. And how can anybody not enjoy watching Rasheed Wallace?

He's hilarious.

they were 7th in Opponents PPG, 10th in Opponents FG%, 18th in Opponents 3PT%
that's not anywhere near a good defensive team. Marc Cuban's the only one screaming they're one of the best. They're better than last year prolly, but that's it.
Mon May 08, 2006 4:30 pm

at the Jones pic
I dont see the Pistons shooting that well again, but I still dont see the Cavs winning more than 1, MAYBE 2.
Mon May 08, 2006 4:42 pm
Detroit are definetly wining this series...no doubt

....but I would soo be cracking my ass of if the Cavs won

Mon May 08, 2006 5:09 pm
Well Detroit are already winning the series 1-0.
