uh no, i still don't get it. i understood what axel wrote but i still don't get your retort

I think he means that Nash is white. THats not what I think, but yeah...
Mon May 08, 2006 8:17 am
I think he's trying to say that if you took 1/5 (20%) of Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson's skills, that would still be better than Steve Nash.
But he sure did a craaaaapppy job of it.

He said he didn't think it was possible to weigh one versus the other. I meant that it not only is possible, but easy as even 1/5 of any of those players skills are better than Nash's. (i.e. Magic Johnson >>>>> Steve Nash)
I think he means that Nash is white. THats not what I think, but yeah...
Yeah, that too.

Yeah... I know I did.

Steve Nash also got Chuck Norris' Mom pregnant.... Steve Nash made Chuck Norris bettter at roundhouse kicks.
Mon May 08, 2006 8:42 am
Congrats to Nash.
Kobe Bryant was my MVP this season, LeBron second.
Mon May 08, 2006 9:50 am
What the hell, giving Tim Duncan MVP votes.
The guy's been off all year.
Mon May 08, 2006 10:11 am
Oh well... I think most of us in favor of Nash have argued our point into the ground and there really is no point in arguing about it anymore. Steve Nash won the MVP again and the Suns are moving on... thats all that matters to me

You're an idiot. Opinions can't be wrong, moron.

I liked it more when me and Nick were the only Suns fans on the board. If anybody said 'Suns fans' it just meant the two of us and nobody made any blanket statements about us.

Now that PHX4LIFE is gone hopefully those statements will stop....

They can be misguided, which is what he was getting at.

congratulations steve nash
I would've picked dirk or lebron, but nash is a decent pick. His control of the game pace is masterful, and he's a genius at forcing matchups off the pick and roll.
kobe at 4th is spot on right.
Mon May 08, 2006 11:17 am
they way i see it, Kobe is the best individual player in the NBA, and he is a better defender than Nash. Nash makes all his teammates better, but if you took nash out of the suns they'd still be good. They'd still have an all star, and if they had amare back they'd be a top playoff team.
If you take Kobe away, the lakers suck, way worse than the suns without Nash, so Kobe is the most indivudually valuable player, and he is the most valuable player to his team...

I don't think you're completely excluded from it.
Justice prevails!
Not even close, Steve Nash in a landslide.

It could be made a case for any team.
Without Iverson, Philadelphia is pathetic.
Without KG, Minnesota's doomed.
Without Paul Pierce, Boston can't survive.
Without Chris Bosh, the Raptors wouldn't have any talent.
Where's the MVP ballots for those people?

You're right, but in order to be a potential MVP Candidate, you need to have a winning team, and you need to lead your team somewhere. Like, if the Celtics had 50 wins, Paul Pierce would be a top 3 mvp candidate.
Steve Nash definetly deserved.
Mon May 08, 2006 11:49 am
You can't give the MVP award based on "Without (player), (team) would suck". It can be applied to pretty much 2 players on every team in the league.
Mon May 08, 2006 12:06 pm
oh well, Chauncey must now settle for Finals MVP
Mon May 08, 2006 12:10 pm
if steve nash stayed with the mavs, they would be going for two straight championships in a row this year.
duncan and brand get no love, while dirk nodickski got more votes then kobe. now thats funny

he will have to do it while on the loosing team cause the spurs are gonna win again against the pistons

Since this is just making official what we've already known for some time, I don't have any real problem with it. I'm not too keen on the fact Nash has been placed in such an elite club, as good as he is it doesn't seem right that he's up there with those other players but his case for MVP this year was legitimate. As I've said before he's a convenient selection.
I'm surprised in the winning margin though. I thought the race was very close this year and expected the voting to reflect that.

the whole "what steve nash touches turns to gold" rule doesn't apply to Nowitzki who plays better w/o Nash.
he will have to do it while on the loosing team cause the spurs are gonna win again against the pistons
No way, Detroit will win...Billups 4 FMVP.

steve nash might not make nowitski better, but they wont get anywhere with nowitski as their star. Nash would have made the mavs team better though.
and as far as the pistons beating the spurs, you couldnt be more right. Pistons beat down their teams and they dont even look like they try hard. The spurs are struggling to get past the mavs. Pistons will win the title no problem, at least if they stay healthy.

no. Nash has won 2 MVP's and just so happens to put him in some elite company but that doesn't necessarily make him as good as these other elite players. don't get the 2 confused
Ric Bucher had an excellent analysis about the MVP voting on nba fastbreak this past saturday nite. if anyone has this recorded could post it
congrats to Nash
Mon May 08, 2006 2:23 pm
It should have been Chauncey Billups or Dirk Nowitzki's award, not Steve Nash's.
