Seems like its a badge of honour these days for a fat, outspoken "ambassador" of their sport to have a gambling problem. And Barkley is the one who complained about the ignorance in america towards the ghetto's, yet he wastes 10 million dollars gambling? I'm sure alot of famalies could have used that.

Of course its exagerated and its a cheap way to gain publicity. If he said he lost 5-6 million, do you think anyone would take notice?

too much gambling will break you in the end

this goes to show that Barkley is a loser on and off the basketball court.

Then he shouldn't whinge about it when he losses it. You have to question Barkley's timing, he must have seen all the attention John Daley was getting and decided to jump on the bandwagon. He's like that..

Maybe he bet all his money on the fact that there couldn't be anything more ridiculous than Josh Smith's behind-the-free-throw-line-tape-dunk. But then came Damon Jones' coat...

You could argue Jordan has a gambling problem. Who cares? If I threw a dart in the casino down the road I'd be arrested and hit someone who has a gambling problem.

He was still the best power forward under 6-6 who ever became a studio analyst for TNT and appeared on The O'Reilly Factor.

who really cares if he has a problem or had a problem, none of our buisness really. the problem i have is, and matthew already mentioned it sorta, but how can these rich people cry about charities needing donations when they go and piss away 10 mil or whatever. rumors (still not sure if its real or not) that jordan lost a mil on 1 putt (sure everyone has heard that one). does anyone think any less of jordan cause of that? imo all athletes should be allowed to gamble so long as they dont gamble on thier own teams, and hell even thier sport. beyond that go piss away everything you got, i dont care, just dont come crying to the public for help(like that bitch who i cant remember her name did on the oprah show) when you have nothing left. i believe mc hammer did that also lol, though he didnt gamble his away, he was just stupid.

yeah, its actually pretty realistic that he could have lost that much, especially if you include all of his endorsment deals. Plus, there were several endorsement companies that agreed to wipe out his gambling debts when they signed him to avoid bad publicity, so there is good chance that the 50-60 million figure could be relatively accurate, though maybe still a bit of an exageration. I would guess more like 30-40 or so.

John Daly doesn't have many endorsment deals though. I don't beleive he lost 50-60 million either.

He'll probably go and lose twice as much and then go boasting/whining about it to everybody.

to be honest, i think people see losing money as a better thing than winning. sounds dumb i know, but when you can lose 10 mil and still live the rich life, thats just rubbing it in everyones face. i mean, am i supposed to feel bad for someone who lost more money than i will ever make?
